![]() Hi there!
Information about this was requested a while back so I thought I'd also include just the scene in question of Nita Talbot's sexy seduction/stripping down to black bra, knickers, garter belt, stockings & suspenders from The Manchu Eagle Murder Caper Mystery (1975). ![]() Alternate link to an ImageBam gallery for those who prefer, here. ![]() .
![]() In Hogan's Heroes, Nita played the white Russian spy Marya, a role she reprised seven times between 1966-1971, earning her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. (Above, pictured with Bob Crane.) I'm guessing the first time I became aware of Nita Talbot was in her appearance from the 1973 episode of Columbo named "A Stitch in Crime," where Leonard Nimoy played a villainous doctor (pictured below), and Anne Francis the doomed nurse; she was past her prime a bit at age forty-three, but she caught my eye big-time. (Great face, captivating eyes, and her usual in-your-face type of acting.) I was fascinated enough to investigate what else she may have appeared in. ![]() From COLUMBO. The reason why I'm here is because I'm working on a detailed post, and a show the actress I dug up reference for was Kolchak: The Night Stalker (one of the better episodes, "The Werewolf," from 1973); I grabbed the frames from the print I had, but the quality was bad (as you know, sometimes this simply can't be helped), and I wondered if I could find a better print. I was surprised that the big U.S. TV network, NBC-TV, made these episodes available online, and they offered the highest quality (although the print still was not super sharp), so I re-did my grabs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nita can be all over the place while emoting. Pictured with Darren McGavin, as Kolchak, in the first photo. Yet lo and behold, Nita was the leading lady in this episode, giving, in the words of an IMDb commenter, "her copyrighted performance as the frustrated middle aged single woman, who all too obviously spends most of her life before the TV set, watching old movies." (Kolchak suspects a monster on the loose in a cruise ship, and recruits Nita as his assistant.) Before I dispensed with my high-quality print (it actually went out-of-sync, after the download), I thought I'd make a quick record of Nita from this outing of hers. Yet I know so well from my VEF experience that putting up a "quick" post rarely works out that way. While looking through Nita's filmography, I became aware that Nita appeared in not one, but two W.I.P. (Women in Prison) films, including the beautifully sleazy Chained Heat (from 1983, the one with Linda Blair); the other I didn't need to go out of my way to dig up, since I had already collected it for my post on Jill St. John (as she had played the villainous warden); this was The Concrete Jungle from 1982. Nita represented the forces of good in both hopelessly in-the-hole flicks, by looking into prison corruption. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nita isn't going to take any of Jill St. John's nonsense. In this encounter, she exclaims, "It's your job to take care of the inmates... You don't do your job worth shit!" In the last shot, Jill got what was coming to her (although normally in these films, the oppressor gets killed, so she got off easily). Nita (pretty tall, huh? As you may see from the third shot below; height was almost 5'9") is excited that the film's heroine has the information to finally expose the intolerable shenanigans, but the heroine is hesitant and insists on a deal; she demands freedom. Nita explains, before giving in, that she can't make that deal. Trying to shake up the heroine, Nita says, "Cut the bullshit, Demi!" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (A better viewing of the film is needed as to why the heroine is addressed by that name, since her character's name is listed as Elizabeth. Tracey E. Bregman has received scant attention on Vintage Erotica Forum; she made the nudity concession for this film when she was nineteen, and although she went on to bigger things, apparently never removed her clothing again. By the way, the link points to a recent post by Member "Chromax" who has greatly enhanced VEF over the years, and I am saddened, and surprised, to learn he has been "blocked.") ![]() Later noticed Cuzzyman927 had found the same image, which may also be seen in Post #15. The raw photo has been reworked by me. Cuzzy also found another "lying on the chaise longue" view. I inadvertently came across the photo above showing off some Nita skin; as she appeared in the "Backlash of the Hunter" episode of the pilot from The Rockford Files (1973, or around the time of her Kolchak episode; see, she wasn't all that past her prime yet). I took the photo off this Facebook page that celebrates the actor who played Rockford, Jim Garner. ![]() In the second photo from the show that may be seen above, Nita stands behind irresistible cinematic toughie William Smith, implying she was on the team of the bad guys, in a story where an especially beautiful looking Lindsay Wagner hires our ex-con-turned-detective to find out who killed her father. ![]() ![]() Here is something very interesting. Nita was in a 1975 TV movie entitled, It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman! (with Lesley Ann Warren as Lois Lane; Nita's part was minor, playing a "gabby lady"). What was meant to be a smash hit in 1966 as a Broadway musical closed shortly after opening (sabotaged by the success of TV's Batman), and this TV movie attempted to salvage the fiasco, although it had poor ratings. In the second photo are actors from 1966, Bob Holiday as Clark Ken/Superman (he looks good!), Patricia Marand as Lois Lane, Jack Cassidy as Max Mencken, and Linda Lavin as Sydney (I guess Max was the villain, and Linda the moll.) ![]() Here's a series of photographs of Nita from her "babe" period as she appeared at age thirty in 1960's "The Man in the Pit" episode from Johnny Staccato, where John Cassavetes played a jazz pianist and tough guy private dick. (Too bad this wonderful show lasted only a season; the star directed a few episodes, "learning while earning" for his later career.) I see I had gone through this program over two years ago, and what helped me remember was a form-revealing Mary Tyler Moore that led me to create this post. I don't recall the plot of the Nita episode, as I only dug it up to catch these frames, but looks like Nita pulled a fast one by pulling a gun on Johnny by story's end. (Along with Norman Fell, who made for a fine villain.) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Linda can't help being animated. You just know this (reportedly) lifelong Republican must have been hot and heavy in the sack. ![]() ![]() ![]() I was happy to see members highlighting Nita's sex appeal as best as they could, on this short thread. Of course, we may always rely on prolific Member "Cuzzyman927" to dig up the fleshiest views, but what I especially appreciated was how the always-on-the-ball PoloMintGuy offered the post you see above regarding Nita's sexy appearance in The Manchu Eagle Murder Caper Mystery (1975), a film I had never heard of. Too bad the (no doubt) far better quality clip the fine VEF'er also provided (going the extra mile here, as usual) has died, because I was compelled to put up more prominent views than what may be seen in his provided collage. So I tracked down an online copy of the film, the quality of which left much to be desired. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I very recently put up a post where Gabriel Dell was pictured; he and Huntz Hall, who also appears in the film, were originally cast in the Broadway play Dead End Kids, which later became a movie with Humphrey Bogart. Later Gabe, Huntz and some of the others appeared in a series of Bowery Boys comedies. This was Gabe's attempt to get in the spotlight, as he also co-wrote this off-the-wall comedy that failed at the box office. He plays a chicken hatchery owner with dreams of being a private eye, and the scene spoofs the usual beautiful lady who walks into the office of the hard-boiled gumshoe, often trying to seduce the latter with her body for some need that she has. Nita was forty-five here, and pulled off the bombshell routine without a hitch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The scene ends with the declaration that she is married, followed by a slap in the face. ![]() ![]() ![]() Nita Talbot, who is going on ninety-three, has always attracted attention in the performances of hers that I have seen (with her exaggerated expressions and gestures). That's a polite way of saying she could be a bit of a ham, but it's the kind of hamminess (when stopped short of being hokey) that injects life into a performance, and is always welcome. I think she deserved to be a far bigger star, but at least she was not ignored by the industry (she can be proud of her long list of credits), as has been the fate of so many other very talented and great-looking actresses. An IMDb trivia item states, "In October 2022, she announced that she would no longer be able to honor autograph requests due in part to her age." While this image must not be up-to-date (probably taken while she was in her late-seventies-to-eighties), what do you think? Naturally, a bit glammed up here, but overall, not bad for an old chick. .
