Like Labear79, I prefer Carol as a brunette. (And even though I prefer redheads above all, when Carol appeared in a red wig, she didn't quite have the light shade of skin to be convincing.) So, after two postings of Carol in her blonde aspect, I should throw in a brunette shot. And, since Angela Baron is also in the photo, the blonde-fanciers should be happy, too.



Alas, both ladies are only present on the cover, and not inside-the-magazine (have to be careful how I phrase that with DTravel around!), which is probably reprints of items which appeared in other Adam publications. This one is Adam Presents Girls N' Girls (which should be Girls 'N' Girls instead -- pardon my nitpicking), volume 1, #1, and while I can't find a month of publication, it's copyright 1989.

Carol and Angela both appear on another magazine cover, but I haven't turned up my copy of that one yet, and also on the front and back cover of the video More Than Friends, but as far as I know never had a scene together.

The video was later reissued, with an added scene by Carolyn Monroe, who was now on the video box covers, and the beginning of Carol's scene with Arcie Miller cut, going straight to the lez action.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure that "thorough" is the right word for me, since for years I've been grabbing up everthing to do with Carol Cummings which I come across, while I've been less obsessive with my lesser favorites (Nikki Dial, Zara Whites, Madison Stone, Barbara Dare, and others). With Nikki Dial, there's also the way that in her skin magazine appearances she usually has too much makeup on, and looks less interesting than in her videos (maybe the makeup doesn't show as much on videotape?).

Sorry about passing on misinformation about Tracey Adams in the photoshoot I posted in #188. She's not someone I've paid any attention to, but I should have done some online checking. The photo that IAFD has for her does have a slight resemblance to the woman with Carol in the Swank magazine spread, but her photos at Excalibur and the Adult Film Database (the other one than IAFD, that is) have no such resemblance. I wonder if the eBay seller took a look at IAFD and decided Carol's costar was Tracey Adams . . .

Glad to hear that you're enjoying my posts. I'll keep on posting as long as I and my stack of skin magazines and stuff hold out.

P.S. Getting back to IAFD's photo of Tracey Adams, I meant to also mention that I would never recognize Carol Cummings from the photo of her they have on her video listing page. It comes from a shoot in Hustler, and I've never been able to make up my mind if that's actually Carol or not. If it is, she's in disguise as well as going by a different name than "Carol."

If its the same shoot I am thinking of she of does not look like Carol. It's really weird. Also your comment about the red hair not working with her skin tone is right on the money. In Torrid House (the first movie I saw her in) I thought she was just perfect. Needless to say the producer did not take full advantage of her beauty. Her pairing with the hapless Robert Bullock was so frustrating. The overuse of closeups when you have a beautiful woman hovering just outside camera shot is something I just dont get.
I just wish I could find more pics from the shoot from where you got your avatar Carolaholic. Here she is in full bloom of poppin' fresh bewigged brunette goodness!!!

Prude was (and maybe still is) an expensive hardcore magazine. Unlike most skin magazines, it had stiff, thick cardboard covers . . .which were prone to getting creased. I have two copies of #20, and both have creases on the cover through the photo of Carol Cummings (whom they call "Carole"), but one is worse than the other. Of course, I so far have only managed to locate the more creased of the two, so I've decided to go with that one. When the better cover turns up, I'll add it in a P.S. (Later: As promised, I've replaced the scan of the creased Prude cover with the one in better condition.)

I'm sure everyone is tired of my cautionary notes about the reliability of interviews in skin mags, so I'll go to the photos. (But note that the writer refers to her as a blonde, which was supposedly her real hair color under those wigs.)

The cover is from Labear79's favorite photo shoot of the lady, and I've included the table of contents, which crops the same photo to just her face. The interview in Video View which I posted a while back (post #139) here:

was led off by a photo from a shoot which obviously provided the differently-posed photo leading off this interview. The three pics spread across the first and second pages in the second row are all from Carol's scene with Randy West in the video 20th Century Fox. The third (and last) pics in the second row are from the video The All-American Girl, and the non-Carol body parts belong to John Dough. All of the remaining pics (except for the back cover) are, again, from her scene with West in 20th Century Fox . The last pic is the back cover of the magazine, which I included since it comments on the interview and has a small pic (right side, second one down) of her in her Daisy Mae getup from Imagination Xposed (which appeared on the front cover of the box for that video), followed by a tight scan of the Daisy Mae pic for a blowup effect.

Since I have a few additional pics of her from the two videos which provided most of the stills in the interview's pages, I'll add them on.





The first pic, on the left, is from 20th Century Fox (in spite of what the caption says; besides which, the title is "Girl," not "Girls") and again, Carol is partnered with Randy West in 20th Century Fox, though only his arm and hand are clearly visible in this pic. A bit more of West is visible in the second, third, and fourth pics (the fourth in two scans), which also are from 20th Century Fox. the last two pics actually are from The All-American Girl. As I wrote above, that's John Dough with Carol in TAAG, though only the top of his head is barely visible in the lower left corner of the fifth pic. He's more visible in the last pic.

20th Century Fox was re-released under the title of 20th Century Lady, reportedly because a certain movie company threatened to sue. Whether that's true or not, the video was released under both titles -- I have copies of the video with both titles on the boxes, though both tapes have "Fox" rather than "Lady" in the opening credits. It later was re-re-released as Babylon 2000, with a cut at the beginning which made the storyline (about two time travelers coming back to observe the mating habits of their primitive 20th century ancestors) practically incomprehensible. All three versions had Angela Baron on the box covers, so if I post the covers it'll be in the Angela Baron thread.

This is the sixth magazine interview with (maybe) Carol (or Carole) that I've posted, which is all I have or know about. There may be more which I haven't come across, but even six seems an impressive total to me, if she was in the business for less than a year. There is one more interview I know about, but that's on videotape, in the video Sex Lives on Porno Tape. Time for me to learn how to post clips from videos . . .

P.S. I forgot to mention that, of the set of six pics (in seven scans) from other magazines, the first comes from Adam, Vol. 33, Number 9, September 1989, the second appeared in Oralama #9, vol. 2, #3, 1989, the third and fourth come from Adult Video Action, August 1990, the fifth comes from Best of Velvet Talks -- Sexiest New Stars in X-Films, October 1989 (the long title may mean that the review originally appeared in an earlier issue of Velvet), and the sixth pic comes from a mag with another overlong title: the July 1989 issue of Erotic Film Guide Spotlights Hottest X-Rated Film Scenes (though on the cover, "Erotic Film Guide Spotlights" is in teeny tiny type, almost invisible).

P.P.S. I hadn't been posting in VEF for very long when I posted this interview, so it didn't occur to me to do separate scans of the photos taking up less than a full page (there're only two full-page photos: the magazine cover, and the first page of the interview, with the photo of Carol sitting prettily on her heels). A bit later, I'll rectify that oversight. These photos all are of Carol with Randy West and come from her scene in 20th Century Fox (see above for other titles it was released under):







I should mention that I'm not positive that the last two pics in the first row of separate scans are from 20th Century Fox (etc.), but I think they are. I am positive about the others.

Prude #20 also had a review, with photos, of Carol's video Imagination Xposed (and as in Prude, in that video, and on its box covers, she is called Carole). I posted a couple of reviews of the video in post #169, but I'll recapitulate that she has two scenes in that one, one as a hillbilly named Daisy Mae (Lil' Abner isn't in sight), the other a foursome with her, Nina DaPonca (or DePonca), Mark Wallice, and Jeff Golden all nude, covered with vegetable oil, in a set with walls (or, at least, one wall) and floor covered with black plastic sheeting. Here's the two page review, followed by four separate scans of the smaller pics:





In the last individual pic above, besides blowing it up, I've cropped out Jeff Golden's behind to concentrate on the main attraction. (My real preference would be Golden's complete absence, and no drops of jizz on Carol; so sue me!)

Another pic (unfortunately, very small) from the same scene appeared in Volume 6, Number 21 of the Euromag Foxy Lady's Lovers:



It was used as filler art and didn't identify Carol.

Getting back to the review in Prude #20, on the first page, in the pic of the foursome at the bottom, I think the legs on both sides of Mark Wallice's hips (he's the leftmost person in the shot) belong to Nina DePonca, and that's Carol with the top of her head aimed at the camera while Jeff Golden again spritzes her.

I've also dug out the 1990 edition of Adam Film World Guide X-Rated Movie Handbook, Volume 4, No. 12, with a brief review of the movie, and a small pic of the oil and plastic scene:



In this pic, the players are, left to right, Mark Wallice, Carol, Nina DePonca, and Jeff Golden.

In one of Carol's interviews, she (or somebody putting words in her mouth) said that the shoot was a disaster, with the vegetable oil getting all over everything, including the equipment. Which makes me wonder how a similar scene in another video, Aerobics Girls Club, went. I've not seen the video, but Adult Video Album, March 1989, has pics of oiled-up nude ladies in what looks like the same set (though two different sets covered with black plastic sheeting would look much the same) in a video which, like Imagination Xposed, is a 4-Play release. Here's one of the photos:



Another thing I wonder about: if both oil slick scenes were shot on the same set, if they were also shot on the same day . . . and if the one with Carol's foursome came second, so that puddles of oil were already all over the floor, and that's why it got over everything in the second shoot. But that's sheer speculation.

In the photo, Sharon Mitchell is easy to spot in the background, and I think that's Barbara Dare on her back in the foreground (I think I can see her famous lips tattoo), but I'm not going to try to identify the others further, since I keep getting it wrong when I've tried that recently. According to IAFD, the players are Barbara Dare, Bionca, Erica Boyer, Cara Lott, Lois Ayres, Sharon Mitchell. (I count only five in this photo, but another oily photo in the review shows six ladies.)

The first two magazine spreads I posted appeared in the May, 1989 Swank and in Cinema Blue Presents Red Hot Couples, no month, but it's volume one, number twenty-nine, copyright 1989. The third spread, which I recently acquired, was in the November 1989 issue of Stag. Also included are single pics which were in the March 1991 Stag (the black and white pic in the sixth row), and the July 1989 Swank (the last pic in this sequence). (Later: See the P.S. below about the no longer black and white pic.)

I've tried to put the pics in a sequence which makes sense, and I've left out a couple of duplicated pics. I've also left in what looks like duplicated pics which are cropped differently enough that one shows different parts of Carol than the other, making inclusion of both worthwhile, imho. (Don't want to lose any of the lovely parts of that lovely lady.) I've also flipped some of the pics, and turned one upside down, to make them agree with other pics.

The last five pics might have been placed earlier, since the blonde has her slip (or whatever it is) on (or back on) and around her waist, but those pics have a relaxing-after-the-act look to them, so I think they fit at the end. Maybe she began to put her garment back on, and decided to stop halfway and just chill; though, if she actually has any lesbian tendencies, it must be hard to chill out with Carol, almost completely unclad, sitting beside her. Like sitting next to an active volcano . . .

Before the photo fascinates me so much that I forget to give credit, I'd better add that it's from Adam Film World Guide, volume 6, number 12, December 1992. However, that's in small print, because this is the X-Rated Movie Handbook issue, which is in large print on the cover and contents page. And that's why there's a partial list of Carol's videos in the upper left of her photo (uncropped version).

had a photo on the first page of an even wetter Carol from the same photoshoot. She seems to have discarded her garment and now the water is up to her shoulders (alas). And the cover for her video Cum Rain, Cum Shine (one of the Carol Cummings Show series) might be a fourth take from the same shoot. P.S. Y'know, now that I've looked at that photo in an enlarged version, I'm not sure that she's wearing more than a long pink shirt, with no bottom, instead of a swimsuit. More stills from this photoshoot are urgently needed to settle this important question . . .

This is one of the five videos in the "Carol Cummings Show" series. They weren't numbered, but from internal evidence, I think this is the first. An odd thing about this video is that the on-screen credits give the title as "Come Rain, Come Shine." There's another, later video also titled Cum Rain, Cum Shine which Excalibur misidentifies as the one with Ms. Cummings, but Excalibur makes a lot of mistakes like that.

In the 1990s, cheap editions of some Fantasy videos, including Cum Rain, Cum Shine, came out, recorded at EP (or SLP) and in slip cases the same size as regular VHS videos were released in, instead of the larger boxes that porn videos came in. Here's the front and back cover for the one under discussion:



Unfortunately, the photo of Carol Cummings on the back cover has a sticker on the back which won't come off without removing the part of the Carolscape which it's concealing. Also unfortunately, the manufacturer decided to clumsily add a blue splotch to cover the lady's right nipple (and maybe the left one, too, under the tenacious label). This looks like it might be an uncropped, or less cropped version of the headshot that's on the back of the original edition's box. For comparison, here's a tight scan of that headshot, flipped to match the orientation of the reissue's back cover:

Unfortunately (I'm saying that a lot, here), one is in black and white. It comes from Erotic X-Film Guide, June 1989. The one in color comes from the January 1990 issue of the same magazine, which ran this review of Sex Crazy:

The July 1989 issue of Erotic X-Film Guide has a gossip column, "L.A. Laid Bare," conducted by "Mel," and it has a couple of items about my favorite lady of porn. (Later: I see from other appearances of this same department in other issues of the magazine that "Mel" is Mel Hackman. I don't know why his last name was left off of this installment.) Unfortunately, the typesetter screwed up and scrambled the first item, so I've done some rearranging:

I should mention that in some of Carol's videos, she did seem to have blond, or at least light colored, pubic hair (Bo-Dacious and Beeches are two I recall; she was a brunette topside in the first and a blonde in the second). On the other hand, when she was a blonde topside, I thought I could see dark roots. Maybe she was wearing a blonde wig (the length of her blonde hair varied too drastically from one video to another for it all to be her own, I think), but would a blonde wig have dark roots?

In at least one of her interviews (and I trust those just as much as I trust this gossip column; pardon my sarcasm) mention was made that she was wearing dark wigs in her porn videos to conceal her identity from mainstream movie and TV people when she tried out for non-porn acting parts -- presumably as a blonde. If she thought that a blonde was more likely to get the part than a brunette, that might have been an additional reason to go the peroxide route, even if she was a natural brunette. She was a blonde in her non-porn movies (Night of the Wilding, Last Dance, The Bikini Car Wash Company, etc.), so it might have worked. On the other hand, I'm just guessing out loud, and wouldn't be surprised if I were completely wrong. . . .

Incidentally, the b&w pic of Carol is of her and Mark Wallace (as a mailman) in a scene which originally appeared in Cum Rain, Cum Shine, and later in The Red Baron, as well as (IIRC) All Night Long, and several compilations. Since it's b&w, you can't see that her outfit is pink with polka-dots. But you can remedy that by going back to post #25 in this thread, where Darkdog has posted the scene. Many thanks, Darkdog.

I don't recall any in the videos I've seen (and I've seen all but a handful of hers), and complaints are still sometimes heard online about Carol Cummings being a "cum-dodger." But enjoying watching that particular porn ritual must be an acquired taste, and I've never acquired that one, so it's never bothered me about Carol. I'm more bothered by the way she usually ended up with her top garment around her waist when I would have preferred it to be over her head and off onto the floor, not blocking my view of the beautiful lady. I suspect this was due to all those wigs she wore, and pulling her top down instead of up and over was a way to be sure the wig wouldn't come off in the process.

In Blind Date, she did appear to let her costar come in her mouth, after which it dribbled down her chin; but in her on-camera interview in Sex Lives on Porno Tape she was asked what was the most disgusting thing she had done in a video, and she said that in an unnamed video, probably Blind Date, she had declined having the guy cut loose in her mouth, so they used special effects, and gave her a cup of milk mixed with egg whites to hold in her mouth, then release it to simulate jiz oozing out.

But, like I say, if the scene hadn't been faked, it still wouldn't have added anything for me.

Of course, to cite another of my aberrations, when I see a woman in a porn video who's naked or mainly so in a bed, but wearing high heeled shoes, I think it looks silly, rather than sexy. But then, I don't like the taste of coffee or beer, don't find Garrison Keillor funny (and may have misspelled him), and have never watched a Super Bowl, so I'm obviously a weirdo . . .

I have the scene (I have most of her scenes), but I have no idea how to post a clip from a video. And when I think about all the fits and false starts and Things I Did Wrong when I started trying to post still pics on the Forum, the whole idea is very daunting.

Of course, someone could tell me how to do it. Or I could mail a DVD copy of the scene to someone who knows how to do it, if they trusted me with a snail mail address.

And I would like to post that interview with Carol from Sex Lives on Porno Tape sometime.
