For God's sake don't give HRC someone else to blame for her h̶u̶m̶i̶l̶i̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ defeat.

Sorry stupid pre-emptive spelling on iPad earlier it should have read about Mark Zuckerburg "either he is a coward" not "rather"

Word does exist
compunctious. adjective. Feeling or expressing regret for one's sins or misdeeds: contrite, penitent, penitential, regretful, remorseful, repentant, sorry.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree concerning Mark Zuckerburg. That fellow is unlikely to be worried about being questioned by a committee of British MPs, who is most cases probably know precious little about the internet, Facebook or social media. His non-attendance at a UK parliament committee probably stems from having more important things to do.

Having not gone to a British public school, he would have been guilty anyway

Also British MP's with an average brainpower could be well prepared by their employees.

Sure Zuckerberg would have more important things to do, making money from/with his members for example.

But how he would hurry up, as Facebook would be blocked in GB ?

At worse, he'll get the Martha Stewart treatment.

The select committee were astonished at his reluctance to attend and it doesn't do to piss off the select committee.

What're they gonna do, impose a special "You Zuck" tax on British citizens, or, God forbid, deny him entry to the UK?

And what exactly do you think a UK parliamentary committee can do to a US citizen not currently in the UK-and CEO of a corporate with virtually worldwide reach? Block Facebook? As if they have the authority-let alone the means to do so...

OF course Mark Zuckerberg can extend two fingers in the direction of the select committee-in a well recognised universal gesture if he so feels inclined.....that will irritate a few more people-and confirm a lot more peoples' opinion of the man.....but Facebook is largely a law unto itself.

And now for something out of left field:

Some twat (and that's the politest description I can find..) down here (NZ) has seriously proposed introducing snow leopards into the South Island as a conservation measure. Really? Into a country that has never had any form of quadruped feline predator in its entire history till europeans brought cats, dogs and mustelids?

https://www.stuff.co.nz/timaru-heral...h-island-crazy

I wonder if he'd like to add piranhas to the rivers-to make life that little bit more exciting for fishermen and trampers....how about salt water crocodiles to make estuarine areas more exciting as well....

There are times I despair over my fellow countrymen.....
