I'm old enough to remember when he was president and all the bad shit that happened. Neo Nazis marching in the streets, botched pandemic response leading to an incredible death toll, and a near coup against the United States at his behest.

Rather not have to go through all that again.

More over, we need to get populist liars out of politics and deal with important stuff like climate change, which Trump famously thinks is a Chinese hoax.

Why are you fixated on the "Left"? I'm no where near left and the thought of him churns my stomach. I thought he was a joke over thirty years ago when his dopey face started turning up on T.V. for no apparent reason. I don't get the attraction. He's nothing like his followers and has disdain for all of them.

The 'left' aren't terrified of Trump.

But its good politics for him, and his supporters, to say they are as it gives them another reason to vote for Trump.

They can say the left are scared of Trump as he is the only one who can save 'real' Americans from the (delete as required)

Holy crap,

Well fine - lets just give Joe a second term . . .

I can't say I like Trump the person, although he's starting to grow on me.

But good God - Biden? Kamala? Pelosi?

I feel sorry for average God fearing American.

lol if you were older you'd recognize what party was kicking in the doors of political opposition in the 30s.... and under whose leadership the number of pandemic deaths far exceeded the other's.

Cheap gas, Russia not invading neighbors, no inflation, booming economy, etc. This administration has been an unmitigated disaster.

Didn't he said he would only do one term? I'm pretty sure Trump did too.

Just on that point the Inflation Reduction Bill has or will mitigate a lot of climate change, so it's not really unmitigated.

I saw some Republicans who voted against the bill clapping when it passed, and then taking credit for it in interviews. That's some real contempt right there.

1. "Climate Change" is junk science, and a grift. The world can't run on unicorn farts. Wind, solar can only be supplements. Electric vehicles are not yet accessible to most people. Someday, but the concept can't be rammed down people's throats.
2. Trump's style upsets people (duh), but he presided over peace (including in the Middle East), low unemployment (including the lowest Black unemployment since counting started), energy independence and a bit of an end to American self-loathing.
3. The Left has become atomised into a series of grievance groups; their only agreement is that Trump is worthy of hatred.
4. Joe Biden was invented by the Deleware credit card banks 50 years ago and paid off like a broken slot machine until the big grift started when he became Obama's poison pill. He is now fatally compromised by his and his family's businesses in China and Ukraine.
5. The next 2 years will determine whether America survives or decends into civil war and chaos. Since I have 2 young children, I hope their lives are full and safe.

....
Of all the progressive silliness, the belief that a country can control the earth's weather, as if turning some large thermostat, might be the silliest. A wonderfully devised scare tactic to grab more power.
