When the series started Penny would have been about 20, (b1948 according to IMdb) and playing a sixteen year old, who is supposedly in her final year at school, she was in three series so perhaps she didn't wanted to continue playing a teenager at twenty-three or so.
A couple of newspaper pictures of Penny from my small picture archive, so the quality isn't great. One is a publicity shot for "Under The Doctor" although according to the article with the picture the film was going to be titled "Please Come Again, Miss". The other is a publicity shot taken about the time the film "Playbirds" was released.   Enjoy AceXX |
