Default When Miss Moneypenny Finally Got Nasty With James Bond

.

Here is the way Member "Philby14" described Samantha Bond: "A great actress, who in TV and film, was quite often cast as the glamorous, 'business suit/short skirt/fast car', type. If that makes any sense!... Especially with that short hair style, I thought she was stunning."

......
BLINDED is a 2004 Brit flick that is described as a thriller, wherein
Samantha, whose part is very small, plays a doctor guiding a
Danish hitchhiker seeking work to a farm owned by a blind man;
he senses his wife may be in the mood for a Danish. (On
YouTube.)

Philby14's comment was in the "Women You Shouldn't Really Fancy" thread, a title that is open to interpretation; the first post did not describe the idea, probably concluding the title should make things obvious... but my first thought was superior women who are out of one's class. (That is, they are so wonderful, you can't waste time digging 'em.) In an attempt to understand, I arbitrarily clicked on "page 101," and examples of an arch-feminist and a conservative government leader implied these are rotten women. In other words, they don't deserve manly attention, we should be turned off by them and yet there is something to these ladies and we can't help being turned on anyway.

....
Ms. Bond was absolutely chosen to play a "babe" role while aged twenty-eight, as she appeared
in the comedy, ERIK THE VIKING (1989), written & directed by Monty Python's Terry Jones and
featuring Eartha Kitt and future Bond cast-mate John Cleese. In the opening scene, she seems to
be in line to get violated by the bumbling Erik, played by Tim Robbins.

Whaa-att? Then what was the very lovely Samantha Bond doing in such a thread? Now I'm looking at the very last page, which is page 294 currently, with only three posts (by Members "Diary Of A No" and the next two by "LoveVintage15," in case the page changes), and all of them are about women who are so obviously sexy, they drive us nuts. That is, instead of "Women You Shouldn't Really Fancy," the thread's title should have been — at least in these cases — "Women You Should Really Fancy." (This level of lack of clarity at Vintage Erotica Forum is simply an outrage, I say. Yes, that's what I say.)

At any rate, I recently put up this post on a leading lady made famous by Die Another Day (2002) (Pierce Brosnan's and Samantha Bond's last James Bond film; three others came earlier), and felt some may enjoy the scene where Miss Moneypenny finally got sexual with the man who has kept moistening her for years. (That is, before the character got changed in the politically correct Daniel Craig films.)

....... ..............................
.................................................. ................... John Cleese as "Q" interrupts, asking what is going on.

Why, it was all a dream... of sorts. Moneypenny was lost in virtual reality world.

Member "Sidaris" has put up polls on some Bond movies' most alluring women. Of course, Miss Moneypenny was never meant to be the sexpot of these films, but let's see how some VEF members have rated Samantha Bond.

From the "Who is the Sexiest Bond Girl : Goldeneye" (1995) thread, Samantha (aged thirty-three/four) scored 2 of 31.

From the "Who is the Sexiest Bond Girl : Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997) thread, Samantha (aged thirty-five/six scored 3 of 32.

From the "Who is the Sexiest Bond Girl : The World is Not Enough" (1999) thread, Samantha (aged thirty-seven/eight) scored 4 of 37.

From the "Who is the Sexiest Bond Girl : Die Another Day" (2002) thread, Samantha (aged forty+) scored 3 of 27.

Not bad, compared to some of the most striking beauties who usually get cast in these films. (Bear in mind, there is more than one actress who goes by the name of Samantha Bond. When I researched past VEF coverage of our lady, was I excited to see Samantha had consented to go seriously naked. Alas, that little flower turned out to be a performer from the "Softcore Models" section.)

Again, the lady from her "babe"
period, aged 23 or 24 in the three
episode mini-series from 1985, MISS
MARPLE: A MURDER IS ANNOUNCED.
She played the supposed sibling of
actor Simon Shepherd (pictured).

I feel Samantha Bond was a fine choice for the role of Miss Moneypenny. Attractive, but not in a sensational way — which is exactly what most would appreciate from a female character whose primary trait lies in longing for the spy hero (that is, before she became a field operative ordered to kill the hero, and a sexually uninterested black woman). This casting was in the mold of the first Moneypenny, Lois Maxwell.

My capture of Caroline Bliss, seen with
Timothy Dalton, in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS.

If you don't mind my deviating from Ms. Bond a little bit, her predecessor from the earlier pair of films starring Timothy Dalton was Caroline Bliss. Boy, she was beautiful (seems it was her good choice to don eyeglasses, in order to come across as mousier, and less cool). Such a lovely actress has been given short shrift on VEF (mentioned only once in 2015 on the "Lesser Known British Celebrities & Bit Part Actresses - Classic Edition" thread, the one where she called to get far more explored, via a post that offered just one photo and no biographical information. It was only in the "Bond Girls" thread where Member "Gfscans" gave a bit of information.

... ...
THE MONEYMEN; thanks to Member "Boyd" for providing the clip
these captures came from, in "TV Shows With Topless Scenes."

Caroline has not fared well in the business, with less than twenty credits from 1982-1996. At least her first Bond credit probably helped her secure a starring role in the 1987 TV movie The Moneymen (about London's financial markets), where she graciously showed some skin while mostly preserving her modesty. (Interestingly, Caroline Bliss and Samantha Bond were friends, having known each other since the age of eleven.)

In Sidaris' "Who is the Sexiest Bond Girl : Living Daylights" thread, Caroline scored 4 of 29, and in the "Who is the Sexiest Bond Girl : Licence to Kill" thread, she received zero votes out of 34. (Geez, what does a girl need to do to get some love on VEF.)

Pierce Brosnan & Cassandra Harris, last
name courtesy of her second husband,
the brother of actor Richard Harris.

Continuing with my rude deviation from the one this post is devoted to, the woman seen above is probably the reason why Pierce Brosnan latched on to his great James Bond fame and fortune. When Cassandra Harris appeared in the Bond flick For Your Eyes Only (1981, starring Roger Moore), she introduced the handsome guy (that would be Pierce Brosnan) whom the six-foot-tall woman had married in the prior year, to Bond Producer "Cubby" Broccoli. Brosnan sounds like he was genuinely in love with the Australian beauty, until cancer prematurely claimed her at the age of 49 in 1991. Her daughter, who had a modest acting career of her own, would go on to die of the same type of cancer in 2013, aged forty-one.

Mr. Cumming is seen in the third photo and the images below.

If we may now get back to the actress we should be talking about — and for this revelation, we owe "Petermills" enormous thanks. This member who is not coming by anymore hooked up with VEF in 2009, and only spoke up ten times. In the rare times they choose to blab, it's these "silent" members who often contribute powerfully. It's possible no one on the web was aware of this one time Samantha has gotten nude for the screen (as seen above on this page, or Post #12). Her exposure was in the British horror series Ghosts, and in the last episode of the show's six episode run (episode entitled, "The Chemistry Lesson," from 1995), she was the victim of Alan Cumming, who found a sneaky way to get into the pants of the actress who happened to be his former cast-mate from Goldeneye.

Someone tell the cinematographer to quit filming asses in near-silhouette.

Mr. Cumming explained in this page from his own site, "The film was originally more about sexual obsession, so Sam and I became pretty intimate shooting some of the sex scenes - a lot of which ended up on the cutting room floor, due to the BBC censors. There's nothing worse than having a sex scene cut! You feel you went through all that stress for nothing!" What that implies is that Ms. Bond could have shown off more than the crummy image seen here, that came from a low-grade copy off YouTube.

In this recent view, Ms. Bond
was at the opening of Neil Simon's
"Plaza Suite," starring Sarah Jessica
Parker and Matthew Broderick, at
a London theater on Jan. 28, 2024
