http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0088147/ Surprised she doesn't have her own thread. Not a long career, but a few impressive scenes. CTTC ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Wendigo; January 5th, 2014 at 08:37 AM.. Reason: added bio details |

![]() HAMBURGER: THE MOTION PICTURE I'm one to appreciate attempts at humor, but this one came at the expense of a struggling actress who (likely, half-heartedly) made the "nudity concession," in order to get a break in her dreams of becoming a successful actress/star. I'm sure she didn't embark on this profession because she was an exhibitionist. I don't believe the member who wrote the comment is this way, but there are too many on the internet who enjoy denigrating those who society determines to be morally inferior, so that the righteous may feel good about themselves. ![]() Photo origin unknown. I have never copied and pasted a bio from the IMDb (normally, a sign of laziness), but felt the following was very well written: Debra Blee was a bubbly, buxom and beautiful brunette actress who popped up in a handful of enjoyably lowbrow exploitation features made throughout the early to mid 80's. Blee was born on June 8, 1958 in Orange County, California and grew up in the San Francisco bay area. Debra started out as a member of the Berkeley Repertory Group, where she acted in stage productions of such plays as "Wait Until Dark", "The Tavern", and "Room Service". She moved to Los Angeles in 1981 to pursue a full-time acting career. Debra gave a charming and vibrant performance in her film debut as the naive, uptight and virginal "Sarah" in the delightfully raucous and raunchy The Beach Girls (1982). Blee went on to portray street gang member "Rachel" in the terrifically trashy Savage Streets (1984), the gutsy "Cynthia" in the dopey martial arts romp Sloane (1985), the sweet "Mia Vunk" in the hilariously stupid Hamburger: The Motion Picture (1986), and spoiled rich girl "Jane" in the entertainingly silly The Malibu Bikini Shop (1986). Outside of her regrettably sparse movie credits, Debra made a guest appearance on the T.J. Hooker (1982) episode, Hooker's War (1982). Alas, after tackling a small part in the comedy, Beach Fever (1987), Debra Blee called it a day as an actress and dropped out of the film business. - IMDb Mini Biography By: woodyanders ![]() ![]() My original snip for THE BEACH GIRLS, lacking the best quality. Next, a publicity still from the 1982 film, with James Daughton looking a little too happy. Not knowing anything about this little lady, I was stirred upon viewing this collage (below) that appeared on a "nude celebrity" site. (From The Beach Girls, Debra's first film from 1982; a video review.) ![]() Those breasts were simple perfection. This skin exposure lasted only seconds in the film, and screen shots of the scene have been done to death. Views from Member "Pygar77" in the post directly above (from six-and-a-half years ago. Phew) were the clearest, from the thread. (Note how somebody — best candidate being Pygar77 — took the trouble to eliminate the background in the last four photos, so that eyes may be directed solely upon the lovely subject.) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Debra from SLOANE, the title character played by Chuck Norris wannabe, Robert Resnick (as seen above). Quite unlike the implication from the "Quote" box's comment, Ms. Blee's nudity was (unfortunately) just as fleeting as the blink-and-miss-it scene from The Beach Girls, in her one other nude appearance, the action film, Sloane (1985). Debra actually co-starred in this one, playing a reluctant helper to the ex-cop hired by her father to rescue Debra's abducted sister (a former flame of the hero) from the Philippines. (Trailer.) It looks like Ms. Blee and other cast/crew members had to put up with much intrigue and danger while filming in a country beset by political violence (this "trivia" bit from the IMDb is astounding). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Predictably, nearly all IMDb reviewers show off how much smarter they are by putting down this example of "gutter cinema," but my sentiments were more aligned with the single review that begins with, "I would have to say that Sloane is probably the best movie I have ever seen." Too bad the film does not seem to be readily available. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Debra from HAMBURGER: THE MOTION PICTURE Debra as "the sweet 'Mia Vunk' in the hilariously stupid Hamburger: The Motion Picture (1986)," as her IMDb biographer worded it. Months ago, I put up (on Randi Brooks' thread) screen shots of the scene (pictured below) where the heroes slide under the table (where they were with Debra and Randi, the latter playing Debra's mother) when their burger university's drill sergeant (Dick Butkus) walks in and sits down. When one of the boys sees Randi is not wearing panties, he digs in ("I love eating out"), as an embarrassed Debra notices, and then tries to cover up for her mother's reactions. (Little did I know the brunette next to Randi was Ms. Blee, and thanks to VEF, now I know.) ![]() ![]() ![]() Ms. Blee has a, shall we say, "eccentric" look about her (facially speaking), which reminds me of Jessica Harper (an actress who was not a favorite, until I developed great respect for her, upon noticing her daring scenes from 1975's Inserts). ![]() ![]() ![]() The Malibu Bikini Shop (1986) was Debra's second-to-last film, finding her in familiar "Beach" territory once again. Two college graduates are in charge of an inherited bikini store, and probably one shared this bedroom scene with our lady. The IMDb bio described her role as a "spoiled rich girl." As the actress began her career with a "beach" film, five years later she ended it (with a detour eight years afterwards playing one of several reporters for a soap opera episode) with 1987's Beach Fever, featuring O.J. Simpson's pal, Kato Kaelin. (Notice how the box art from below included a shot of the actor from the murder trial.) Ms. Blee's part did not have a character name, and was evidently very minor. ![]() Looks like she got married and had two children. Ironically, although the odds are Debra Blee did not want to share her treasures with the world (how comfortable would you be, with exposing your private areas?), of the half-dozen films and two TV shows she appeared in, it is probably because of her perfect breasts that she is being remembered and celebrated today. .
