Here for what was supposed to be a quickie. Dug up a movie for a post on the "Lisa Seagram" thread, and noticed a lovely Italian lass who has been bypassed on VEF, and who also appeared nude in that film. Thus, she is deserving of a record.

Before that, however, I noticed the two fine posts from ManInMotion#33 above, "Lea Lander 2nd" and "Lea Lander 3rd." Really happy to see Lea Lander getting more exposure in the forum, because I liked her very much, and especially after noticing that she had been ignored on VEF, prepared this detailed post on Lea back in December, to be found on the "Lesser Known German & Austrian Actresses ~ Vintage" thread.

I see "Lea Lander 1st" was put up just days ago in Post #1006, now on this thread's prior page, and illustrated with two pictures that were put up by VEF's expert on Teutonic Treasures (Beutelwolf) on another thread, featuring Lea from a German magazine:

I became familiar with Come cani arrabbiati (A.K.A. Like Rabid Dogs), as I put up two back-to-back posts on this thread of actresses Annarita Grapputo and Anna Curti who appeared in that film. The film Lea Lander starred in was actually called Cani arrabbiati in Italian, better known as Rabid Dogs, what the IMDb link ManInMotion#33 thoughtfully provided correctly led to. (As I learned, she didn't actually produce and release the film in 1998, but was responsible for making it possible for the film to see the light of day, as Rabid Dogs was trapped in legal limbo.)

Since Lea Lander was born in 1936, the "Lesser Known Italian actresses ~ Vintage" thread would have been a more suitable VEF home, but she's not Italian. As ManInMotion#33 correctly wrote in his 1st post on the lady, Lea is a German actress. Indeed she made films in Italy, just as Lisa Seagram (the one who brought me here) made films in Italy, but Lisa is an American. Lea Lander (as with Lisa Seagram, although Lisa did the same for a shorter time, moving to Italy in 1969 and staying in that country for what seems to be at least one decade) sort of adopted Italy to take advantage of that nation's prolific cinematic opportunities at the time, and probably got an Italian passport, but she is a German born in Germany.

Yellow: The Cousins (1969, also known as Yellow: le cugine) was a critical film for Lisa Seagram, as it appears to have been the only one where she was freer with her flesh, but the actress who got down-and-out nude was Caterina Barbero (and had a starring role, in contrast to the bulk of her other movies). Born in 1951, her list of films did not number many, although she was active for over a decade.

My initial search indicated that Caterina had been a VEF no-show (aside from a name drop for a film's cast listing), but buried in the thread for Nieves Navarro (A.K.A. Susan Scott/ Suzanne Scott) were what's below by Member "Mcol," and several other photos that have survived since 2012. Caterina plays an underaged girl assaulted by a plumber in Il giudice e la minorenne, or "The Judge and the Minor," and the film's main character is the judge dealing with the case. (Which profoundly changes his life, already in a midlife crisis after discovering his wife is unfaithful and his daughter is a violent subversive, and questions arise as to whether the plumber is guilty; as an Italian reviewer worded it, "the basis of the film... could be summed up in something like 'females are all whores.'")

Il Giudice e la Minorenne (1974)

Caterina was credited as "Ketty Barbero" in 1974's Il giudice e la minorenne, as she was in one other movie (Raptus), from 1969, or the same year as Yellow: le cugine, the film my screen caps from above came from. Although Caterina was the third main character in Yellow (after the main star, Lisa Seagram, and the actor who played Caterina's husband being the second star; in other words, Caterina had a very important part, and she was only eighteen), it's interesting that she waited five long years before appearing in 1974's Il Giudice e la Minorenne. (Logic indicates the big role from Yellow would have opened doors for her.)



Caterina would appear in only four more films until 1980, and the last three involved roles where she (per the IMDb) may not have been credited for the last two. The first of the last three films was the infamous Nazisploitation feature, Gestapo's Last Orgy from 1974 (she was given screen credit, but may not have had a character name within the goings-on; here is the film's VEF thread), where she played one of many female victims, often shown nude, in a concentration camp. It's safe to assume her clothing probably came off in at least some of the other later films as well. It's interesting how the opportunities that came her way were relatively few (even though she could act, she looked good, and was free with her body), and that she seems to have quit the business before turning thirty.
