My mom got a B&D leaf blower and weed wacker many years ago. Both are still running today, as are both batteries and the charger. When any of them die I'm not even gonna try to replace them. I hear this complaint all the time and I'm gonna give the standard response:
It doesnt matter.
If those two both move up a few feet and a third car comes in then the right exit lane will still be blocked. Though I do agree if you are the red guy you'll be plenty irritated. Keep in mind if all those people are stopped it likely means the opposite side is making lefts and even though you can be IN that exit lane, you might not actually be able to go anywhere yet.

This is why I like traffic circles, or roundabouts. Overall they do a better job of keeping the traffic flowing. And they work without electricity.
