Default Ufo TV series

As a kid in the early 70's I used to watch UFO every week, then, my interests were the cars, guns, spaceships.........but one thing always stuck in my mind even to this day ;D
Those string vests were kind of awesome

From what I have read in FANDERSON-the Official Gerry Anderson Appreciation Society's own magazine-of which I have been a member since 1985-it rates most highly-here are some titbits about the actors/actresses

Gabrielle Drake-Lt Gay Ellis-went into CROSSROADS the new version in the 90's
Antonia Ellis-Lt ?-an author I believe or at least a writer for tv (but not the creator of Ally McBeal)
Wanda Ventham-Col Veronica Lake-went into comedies and series of various sorts such as "The Kelly Monteith Show" and "The Two Ronnies" to name but two.
George Sewell-Col. Alec Freeman- went into police dramas such as "Special Branch"* and later "The Detectives" comedy series and recently died after a long ilness (RIP)
Ed Bishop-Commander Ed Straker-did a lot of voice over work, also did the Kenny Everett Show and many others-but he too is now dead-died two-three years ago.
Ayshea Brough-one of the SHADO radio operatives and whose bottom is seen in marvellous closeup in the opening titles of the very first episode "IDENTIFIED" had her own show "Lift Off with Ayshea" then moved to America-not been seen in anything since.
Michael Barrington-Col. Paul Foster-an accomplished singer believe it or not, died early in his career.
(Not to be confused with the same named actor who played Mr Venables the Governer of Slade Prison in Porridge)

Possibly crossed wires here - I don't know aboout Wanda Ventham but Kelly Monteith's wife was played by Gabrielle Drake.
She was also the sister of singer/songwriter Nick Drake who OD'd in 1974.

Perfect sci-fi series that dealt almost exclusively with character developement rather than monsters.

Totally politically incorrect from the opening sequence but So What!

This needs to be seen by younger film students along with other underseen drama so that future programming won't be so bad as it is now.

Re Wanda-yes looks like my memory let me down at the wrong moment. She mostly played sexy vamps in many series too-she had that LOOK if you know what I mean. BTW I saw that film the GIF is of and its total pap!!

In Italy UFO series are still popular for some "Nostagia Tv shows" of 7/8 years ago. They also show many "merchandises" , in those shows" as Com. Stryker cars or the lunar interceptor. Came also Ed Bishop for one of her last Tv appearances. He has a very good "sense of humor", very far from Com. Stryker.

Can you believe they got away with costumes like these in the 60's?
