Finnish Christmas traditions are too weird and bizarre to tell. Instead of that I tell you a true memory from my childhood: We lived in 6th floor in a block of flats, it was a bit wild neighbourhood, our neighbour-familys father got heavily drunk almost every christmas, so when he reached that primitive-manic phase he told her family to get out and thrashed their home and punched his son-of-law into face, police arrived to calm he down and somehow family gathered together to continue their Christmas-evening in their heavily damaged flat,like nothing had happened, like this was their Christmas-tradition. It didn`t happen every Christmas, but at least 5 times, and there was never any kind of violence or demolition otherwise, only on Christmas. Once, at second Christmas-day our doorbell ringed, there was a furniture-salesman offering some cheap sofas and comfy-chairs, my mother said politely that we ain`t need any but our downstairs neighbours might be interested. Salesman thanked, shut the door and we laughed!
