PS didnt realise her norks were SO good when she was younger (I always knew they were good but.......blimey!)

I'm really looking forward to the release of Age of Consent. About a year ago I went to a screening of a restored print of it hosted by the director, Michael Powell's, widow, Thelma Schoonmaker, who is a highly regarded film editor herself. She headed up a group that restored the film and were trying to get a DVD release of it. I really enjoyed the film. It's full of characters and is extremely funny at times. And of course, a young (early 20s) Helen Mirren is swimming nude in it.

Mirren is actually of Russian aristocratic extraction. She is a distant relation of Tsar Nicholas II who was murdered / executed (depending on your politics!) by the Bolsheviks after the 1917 Revolution. Her father was a Tsarist officer.

Not a lot of people know that.
