Run no script and avast wont go off whether your signed in or not
Even after i'm signed in and allow VEF via no script no alerts so what ever the issue is somewhere in that log in area Theres always a small possibility its something malicious from the ads - so ad-block plus as well At least thats my experience running the sea monkey browser |

This is a new development. The only way I could log in here today was through an email notification from another member that went to my email inbox. The orthodox method was, again, blocked by Avast!

Trying to post in the 'What if you lived in Australia' thread, I keep getting a AV warning now!
I have been on VEF for two hours this morning with no problems, but now.....

Then its the differences in your PCs set-up Most vulnerabilities that set off your security come from java (jre) 70% especially if your still on the out of date XP like I am Even if you've removed it the older versions have a nasty habit of hanging around The java page has everything from disabling (highly unrecommended as even they say their own product is vulnerable to attacks )to removing older versions http://www.java.com/en/download/help/uninstall_java.xml Best to keep a copy of the latest version on a USB stick if you really need it The next would be Adobes shockwave flash plugin - 20% of all attacks Its a long shot but what I always do is when I'm not watching videos I disable the plugin regardless. Plugins as opposed to extensions seem to be this level most just forget about I had the adobe plugin nobbled by malware so it didnt update automatically about 3 months ago so eventually when i was watching videos i'd be using an unsecure version. The only reason I picked it up was the software updater SUMO from tech support alert which tells me when stuff is out of date Its actually meant for intermediate users as its not like PSI Secunia which updates stuff without you having to search but it covers far more http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...te-monitor.htm Good luck Last edited by buttsie; October 11th, 2014 at 09:32 AM.. My Avast! has been blocking me from logging in here at VEF (it happened all day yesterday) - but nowhere else. Yes, it may be a false positive but only to occur here that seems more than a little strange.
