Indeed she was, born in the US she renounced her American citizenship due to the racism of the time, she became a French citizen and even worked for the resistance during world war 2, she could not have children of her own so adopted 12 of the them, from all over the world.

Not many pictures of JB to be found on the web except on here, so thanks for all these great ones

Heres a couple clips from her 1934 movie "Zou Zou" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0026023/

The second clip (you will know it) certainly is the main attraction of the film and shows why JB went on to become such a huge star. I only searched the film out after suffering low quality clips on YouTube for so long, and I was glad I did. There are a few of the other girls in the movie with see thru clothing on which was a bonus, so I wasnt dissapointed

The first clip has a nice "slip" at the end too!!
