There is a worrying trend this decade of horrible misogynistic porn. Pumped up, steroid-ridden, greasy tattooed misogynists shouting, verbally abusing, slapping (extremely hard in some cases), fish-hooking the female performers. All this is shot in an homo-erotic fashion whereby the camera is constantly focusing in on the men's faces and the cameraman is yelling support to the other males!

Who gets turned on by watching this?

Wow, great thread. The initial post by brigess is spot-on. I mean, we're all in agreement here - this is an absolute no-brainer! The garbage being produced en masse today cannot even begin to compare with the films that we revere: those films of a generation (or more) ago.
The reasons why this comparison is now absolutely ludicrous have been touched on nicely here. It seems to me that the profound difference in quality between those carefully crafted films of yesteryear, and the utter crap that's being marketed today came upon us very gradually, like the proverbial frog in the kettle, blissfully unaware that he is being brought to boil, until it is in fact too late.
Sadly, what taksraven said is true: as long as people continue to buy this trash.....
Speaking for myself (and probably for a lot of us here), I don't give one cent for any of it. I completely abandon American porn a few years back. I don't want to see these macho assholes or their hyperactive 'camera work', and I certainly don't want to see the ugly shaved pussies, multiple piercings and hideous tattoos of the women in these movies, these pitiful carbon-copy clones. I don't want to hear the non-stop profanity being spewn from both the men and the women in these films (oh yes, that is so endearing: 'oh shit! oh fuck! oh shit! oh shit!'). I don't need to hear any of the assinine remarks. I don't need to be privy to their disdainful attitudes. It would make sense that this devolution is a true reflection of what has transpired in society over the years: we've gone from a time during which people cared for each other, and were generally respectful and polite, to a time in which it's all about 'attitude' (and all its negative connotations), to a time in which suddenly cockiness is a virtue.
(Hence, I've gravitated to Japanese AV primarily. The beautiful people of the Far East know how to be quiet and respectful. This is instilled in them from a very early age. Their women are beautiful: no blondes, no bolt-ons, no nasty tattoos, no piercings, and they have beautiful black pubic hair in abundance - there, the men love it and want them to have it. I, too, am in love with their natural beauty, their placid persona.)

Why many of us are grateful for such a place as this forum and relive memories and share pix, video's from an era where flare for being creative and imagination mattered more than making money, cheap no frills and as long as the camera man got off as that was the only reason for the " film " in the first place lol . Also from a time before the major use of " plastic " if you get my meaning.

Earlier today I saw one of the best of this genre films I've ever seen - its the short 'sexintocation' loop on this site's classic movies thread - I recommend it to all - Sadly, I doubt it could be made today, given the state of the industry at present.

All the mainstream porn is just shit. Apparently, there are a lot of people who DON'T like Lez porn--but I really do, and I've found some small, independent companies producing great "amateur" films, like BellezzaVideo, Abby Winters, L-Factor and a couple others. Their style is completely dfferent from the "gonzo" extreme stuff, with a strong emphasis on the girls' natural appearances and getting true passion captured on-screen. It was the only porn I was really looking for before I found this site and realized just how many classic films are floating around out there.

We may never see the age of the big budget plot-and-acting porn film return, but at least we have the internet to collect these unmatchable examples of a--sadly--dead art form. And at least some producers are still trying to put genuine eroticism on-screen today, although they are very outnumbered and won't likely ever see the budgets that the films of the '70's got to play with.
