The present time is better for downloads of course, but I think the copyright aspects keep some sets locked up. For instance... you could get photographers sets from the vintage magazines from the eighties and such. I mean... they were like there!

There is a snails archives thread right here on VEF with a lot of excellent shots from the 80s. But yes, you are right. The end of the BBS era and ending NSF era Internet contained a lot of great 80s glossy mag material. There is still much out there from that era that hasn't appeared here or anywhere else.
