I agree, unless the movie has what's supposed to pass for a "plot". in which case their faces could be seen while the men are more or less fully clothed

What I object to is the camera lingering on the man's body (worst of all) and then on his face (close to worst), while the man makes a ridiculous grimace as if he's either having his balls cut off, or is in the process of murdering someone

Mind you, this desire to see less of the men is no excuse for "POV" movies, which must rank as the lowest form of straight porn

John Holmes was unenjoyable to "watch". I can't recall a single scene he made that was worth watching, let alone re-watching. He had the face of a petty villain and an unenviably feeble physique

All he had was an over-publicised dick, which always looked limp

The scenes made with Annette Haven would have been so much better if Holmes hadn't been in them

I've seen these names throughout the other pages in the post, so these probably come as no great surprise, but the three I would have added to the write-in list are:

1. Randy West...Possibly undead. Zombies may be able to run now, but they still can't screw.
2. Jon/John Dough...What a lunkhead. He reminds me of a dog humping. And why is he so often chewing bubblegum?
3. Jerry Butler...His ego overtakes every performance. He's certainly memorable, but not for the right reasons.

William Margold has shown too much ego in so many interviews, so he's definitely not a favorite.

Randy West is the opposite of Peter North; so there's a problem watching the guy at work.

The odd one out is Don Fernando I think; he must have been in love with himself to maintain erection, otherwise I'd say he's the ideal candidate for the gas station personnel.

Well, there might have been some better-looking Neanderthals. When you look at Zenza it doesn't seem all that unlikely

Seriously though, it's not just the irritating male performers that spoil the show -- nearly all the directors are awful as well. Where have all the good ones gone? Did they die out as a species?

Directors could actually get away with an ugly male cast if only they'd show less of the men and more of the women, and above all if they'd stop allowing the men to draw undue attention to themselves. There are enough vintage films on this site that prove it

This is slightly off-topic, for which I apologise, but can anyone tell me how Pr*vate makes money?

They have terrible directors, terrible male performers, they get it back to front with the sex scenes because the men are totally naked but the women aren't, they blur the photography à la Bilitis so we can't see much even if the women are naked, and the scenes themselves are catastrophes because the performers look more like programmed machines than people who want to do it

And yet, they seem to have a good budgets. So how do they make their money?

Indeed, we would have fewer trauma sufferers. Think about it

Imagine not having seen the most unaesthetic bodies and faces nature can produce, such as those of Ron Jeremy, Davis or Raggi -- there would be fewer anguished people, tranquilizer prescriptions would be lower, and so would healthcare costs

There is a socio-economic element to this as well, you know
