There were always rumors that Joan Crawford - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_Crawford - made some porn flicks in the twenties. I think such a movie - for instance, "Velvet Lips", "Coming Home", "She shows him how", and, most well-known, "The Casting Couch" - was never shown to the public. One published nude photo - which can be considered as pink shot and, therefore, as pornographic - suggests that those assumptions may have some basis in facts.

Nigel Cawthorne in "Sex Live of Hollywood Goddesses" and David Bret in the just published "Joan Crawford: Hollywood Martyr" leave no doubts that Joan acted in hardcore flicks - one a gangbang with three "sailors" - and that she was a prostitute and nude dancer.

Last I heard about 'The Casting Couch', the Kinsey Institute over in the States reportedly have a copy of it in their vaults. But that it's not for public consumption.

I can't remember where I read it.

And now that I think of it, I remember seeing an Electric Blue video (called 'Sexy Celebs' or something, which had a clip of the movie in it. But most of it was censored out, for obvious reasons. The reason I remember it is because there was a clip from a movie that Madonna supposedly did, and a clip of Sylvester Stallone in something called 'The Italian Stallion', which basically consisted of him and a couple of others playing Ring a Ring a Rosies naked!

That Joan Crawford made porno films and was in "The Casting Couch" is nothing but a rumor and Wikipedia doesn't say anything but that.

This has been deleted from divasthesitecom.

David Bret's book "Joan Crawford: Hollywood Martyr" is riddled with incorrect facts and even has incorrect names for those who starred in major films of the era. Brett has no credibility whartsoever with any film historian and this is but one of several sensationalistic books written by him. One of his many allegations is that virtually all of the men in Hollywood during the first half of the 20th century were either gay or bisexual. One can not be sued for libeling the dead and Brett likely picked this group for the very reason that they are dead plus death makes it hard for them to defend themselves. Likewise, Joan Crawford has been dead for decades.

I do not mean to imply I know whether Ms. Crawford did porno or ever posed nude. She could be totally unscrupulous and had many sexual affairs. However, I would suggest taking the alleged films and alleged photos with a grain of salt.
