The first time I became aware of Catherine Keener was from the 2005 film, The 40-Year-Old Virgin:



I thought... you know... there is really something very special about this woman. And besides that, she exuded sexiness. There was a line in the film about her character being a grandmother, and certainly grandmothers bring to mind the antithesis of sexiness, but even that attempt at being amusing took nothing away from this remarkable lady. (The actress was forty-six.)

I just put up a post on an actress I became familiar with from 1999's 200 Cigarettes. There are some half-a-dozen other very attractive women in the cast, but the one who jumped out for me (a former model) possessed what you might call classically beautiful features. We have all been brainwashed with the standards of female beauty. Find one physical shortcoming that doesn't live up what we expect (or demand), and our prejudices kick in.



Catherine Keener has a bit of a schnozz. I'm sure others will agree that it adds character to her face, and to her overall fine looks. Yet when we come across a lady who is more endowed than usual in the nose area, that is going to work as a detriment for many. Off the top of my head, an example that came to mind was actress and comedian Kristen Schaal (pictured below, from Bill & Ted Face the Music, 2020), a woman few would consider as the likely winner of a beauty pageant contest. On the other hand, the second image below is of Catherine from Seinfeld, a program which featured the loveliest actresses to appear as the title character's revolving door of girlfriends.



Catherine said it herself in a 2006 New York Times article, "I went up for a movie and the note came back that I wasn’t sexy..." This is a response that is not difficult to imagine; on the other hand, here is a woman who is the epitome of sexiness. A woman's sex power goes beyond the skin, but it's not just what she projects. Catherine is very beautiful.


As Catherine appeared in Seinfeld's third season episode of "The Letter"; she played Jerry's artist girlfriend, and was possessive of him;
apparently she needed to try harder, falling short of the "perfect ten" qualification Jerry always insists upon.

The reason I'm preparing this post is because I was working on another post, and after providing images of an actress that were thirty years apart, I wanted to end by also giving an idea of what she looks like currently. So I dug up a TV show episode the other actress (named Ilene Kristen) appeared in that was sort of current (2017's Tainted Dreams), and as I went through the program, I came across the performer I figured was Ilene, and prepared the frame grabs. I thought, you know, Ilene looked pretty darned good in her older years. Then the one I believed was Ilene was addressed by name, and the actress turned out to be our gal. (At that moment, I thought: no wonder she looked so attractive.)


In the same year of 2017, Catherine appeared in Jordan Peale's acclaimed GET OUT,
and she was a delight. She didn't look as the old geezer you see above.

So rather than let my work go to waste, I thought that once I confirmed whether Catherine had her own VEF thread, I would "quickly" add the shots you see above. Then I felt providing the views of an older and not exciting Catherine would not be adequate, so I went about seeing whether she appeared in cinematic fare in the way we would most prefer seeing her. With that in mind, I present the following from The Real Blonde (1997):

most episodes of the 1968-1980 TV show HAWAII FIVE-O: "Spread 'Em, Danno."



Later noticed the last photo was put up twice on this short thread, including the post above. So I felt the need to add more.





Above, from War Story (2014); seems there is a bra in the first set, and in the dark set, if you contact the FBI and get them to lend you their advanced photo enhancing equipment, there is actually an exposed breast, once she removes the top. How gallant of the lady to show her hidden gems, even though one can't make out anything. She was fifty-five, here.
