Red face Yes "For once" have copied the main synopsis. Yet have had a few (No not wanks, beers), slept shy over three hours last night plus me BBQ dinner is almost ready... Ahem ... Not that making excuses or nuff`in

Just finished streaming ,

U.S. soldiers Allan "Ize" Isaac and Shane Matthews answer a distress call in the desert of postwar Iraq. Suddenly, gunshots erupt, leaving Shane badly injured and Allan with a bullet in his leg. Forced to take cover behind a crumbling stone wall, Isaac now finds himself in a fight for survival against an unseen sniper who has all of the advantages.

Damn and we're talking about Gay (Well a thousand under age male Goats don't lie ) Allah`s own sniper from sarcastic hell

Granted in a roundabout way the core premise has been more than once done before.

Although for me that didn't much distract from an ultimately very watchable tense film

Unforgiven (1992)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105695/

Watching a few Clint Eastwood films starting with his Oscar winning directorial and acting classic.
After hearing an exaggerated tale about a prostitute being assaulted by two ranch hands, when Sheriff Gene Hackman lets them off far too lightly girls raise $1000 between them to pay to anyone who kills the pair.
Will Munny (Eastwood) a retired gunfighter is making a living day to say on his farm, when he hears about the reward he and Ned Logan (Morgan Freeman) set out to earn the money together with a young ally.
As I'm not a big fan of westerns it was the first time I had seen this and it is a brilliant movie with some really memorable performances especially from Hackman, Saul Rubinek and Richard Harris.

Solomon Kane (2009)
- Among my favorite fantasy films.
- Appreciate them being willing to go into really bleak territory.
- James Purefoy looks like he would just be a poor man's Hugh Jackman but he gives a seriously damn good searingly emotional proformance.
- The cast of the family Kane befriends all do good jobs. RIP Pete Postlethwaite.
- Some great sets & moody filming locations.
- Final battle devolves into giant CGI monster territory but thankfully that portion doesn't drag on too long & the CGI while not great is better then you might expect.

It's the hat that makes people think of Hugh Jackman,I've seen people online commenting on His "Irish" accent when it's His native West Country. It's a great movie but you're right about the ending,The obvious ending should have been the return of the Devil's Reaper from the beginning..

Early Man by Nick Park. It's not Wallace and Gromit, but it still has the same sweet humour and is hugely enjoyable. And as an added bonus, our own mizlaplan stars as Bobnar

Detonator / Death Train (1993)
- Decent TV movie-ish action film.
- Despite the apparently lower budget showing through periodically, film has some well done moody noir-ish shots.
- Christopher Lee is wasted.
- Brosnan is a good lead but isn't nearly as smooth as he would be 2 years later in Goldeneye also his character isn't nearly as cool under pressure & comes off prone to faint panic.
- Alexandra Paul does a surprisingly good job. They spend a little too much time with Brosnan being sexist towards her but they thankfully don't beat you over the head with her proving him wrong, they just show her being naturally competent.

The Capture of Bigfoot (1979)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0124307/

Two trappers are talking about a find that will make them rich, which they have in a crate, sat by the fire at night when one wanders off and is attacked by a large white critter briefly seen between the tree branches, no prizes for guessing what it was.
The town has a thriving Bigfoot (damn spoiled it ) industry but a local businessman offers local hunters a chance to make money to capture the beast.

Rumor is that David Gordon Green's Halloween will get it's first trailer this weekend so I thought I would revisit this.

Halloween H20 - 20 Years Later (1998)
- Good but overrated IMO.
- Several wildly different mask are used in the film and while it's not glaring, it's noticeable for sure. Even worse none of them are particularly good. Main mask shows his eyes WAY too much & his hair is comically flared out.
See here...

- The different mask being swapped are all over the film making me ponder just how much footage was scraped that we will never see.
- None of the cast besides Laurie are really fleshed out enough.
- Adam Arkin's character is really likable, wish we got more of him.
- Marco Beltrami's score is good but doesn't really vibe with the franchise's traditional music at all.
- Opening at Loomis's residence is solid & effectively moody.
- Films location in the secluded locked down school worked well.

I'd rank the Halloween films...
> 1 > 2 = 4 >> 3 > 6 (producers cut) > 5 > H20 >> 2007 = 2009 > 6 (theatrical cut) >>> Resurrection
