Use the thanks button to show your appreciation

So I understand the concept: don't clutter the threads with thank your comments; instead just show your appreciation by clicking the "Thanks" button.

But with the "Thanks" button, there is no way to distinguish between 1) that is one of the best posts in this thread, and 2) not really my favorite, but I'm glad you contibuted.

So I try to use the "Thanks" button selectively, but feel bad when I do not "Thank" a post in a thread I participate in. It's not that I don't appreciate the contribution, but "thanking" almost every post dilutes the "Thanks" for the posts I really like (and want to encourage more similar posts).

I don't believe a private messages is the answer. Not sure what the answer is.

Maybe I just wish there was a "super thanks" or similar--limited to once a day, once an hour, once every 10 Thanks, or some other way to show I REALLY REALLY liked the post.

Not sure I am even posting this in the right forum.

There once was, I think, a button next to the report post button that enabled you to add rep (thank), and it also allowed you to type a short comment (great post! etc.) that the thanked poster would see in their user cp. That would do what you want, but it's probably no longer available or deactivated for a reason.

You can see it in your own posts, but not in another's.

Thank the posts you really like. Let the others go by. You can't possibly like them all.

You probably should have put this in the Help forum.

The rep button was deactivated quite a while ago. From what I could find, it was deactivated because a number of members were abusing it because they disagreed with other members opinions and that was upsetting quite a few members.

Due to the fact that we do have an active political discourse that goes on at this forum, it's probably best if it stays deactivated.

One way you could thank a member in the Classic Pornstar or Softcore Models is use the discussion section they each have to discuss a post from a Classic's Models thread

I like the option of being able to remove thanks, in case the post isn't as advertised or if you thank the wrong post.

They have that at PSuzy because they have the "hide hack" installed there to hide links until a member thanks them.

We don't have the "hide hack" installed here so there is no need to remove the option.
