the socket were the electric supply goes in has broken, so can not use it at all. I do not want to put it into Currys or the like as ANY think on it may bring trouble though there can not be any thing that can be seen on this site on the laptop but even the idea could spark trouble.
Its Lenovo lap top, any ideas?? please.
In what way is it broken? Does the plug not fit snog anymore? Or is the whole thing busted?

In the way that it doesn't work I suppose (Sorry to get so technical).

Nope that plug`s snogging capabilities have been rent asunder. In the same manner a leprous lipless woman (Butt enough about the ex ) is no longer required in a kissing booth capacity anymore (I`m paraphrasing of course).

The sandhunter needs to get over himself. The TM does it all the time.
I think the Santee will start now also.

Trying in vain to steer this away from Max's continued mental health issues... atishoo!!

Have you no smaller independent laptop repair shop nearby, or in the local directory? As for a repair of that nature they'd have no need or reason to even switch your laptop on other than to test the current going through once the new power jack has been soldered in? Having soldered many of them myself for people I know this to be the case. Don't know what part of the world you are, but don't expect to pay more than about £50/$80 for this repair.

Oh dear! Do you know the French actor Alain Delon?

Almost everybody in France are irritated because he always speaks about himself in the third person.

Quote:
"I'm an excellent actor... Alain Delon is really a great actor."
"Delon said to the producer: You accept my conditions or I don't make your film."
"When the best film directors asked me if I wanted to play in their films. Delon replied: Yes."

Do you get national artists who are used to speak like that without kidding?

I am disappointed in some tech advice here. Don't you know about Asian laptop sockets? They are delicate, designed and made only for gentle entry and removal of plug. If you are careless or always using strong force for in and out, sideways, up & down, etc., caring only about your plug and not fragile inside of socket, damage is sure to come.

*****************
PS, Seriously, I agree cable/plug damage more common*, but I have a Lenovo tablet where socket was fault waiting to break. Jerk designers forgot or ignored that a plug that is reinforced to be stiff (to reduce plug damage) will always exert physical leverage on the teenee innards & structure of the socket, as the connection is moved around. Failure only a ? of time. Sleek repair shop quoted $175. I wasn't that desperate. U-tube shows how to fix. Opening easy. Can you just "re-bend", or need to replace & solder? That's the big ? Have the tools, haven't done it. Priorities.
*Replacement cable-plugs, now generic, mostly cheap after-market, No?
