Using Avast, F/F getting blocked from the log-in page now completely and DuckDuckGo also giving warnings of malware

It seems like Avast is a problem itself. |

Could be:
virustotal check for VEF: http://anonym.to/https://www.virustotal.com/en-gb/url...is/1407053417/ virustotal check for falcame.com: http://anonym.to/https://www.virusto...is/1407053086/ (Both clear, to save you looking)

For what it is worth: I have not had any Avast alerts while visiting VEF since my post on this thread 07-29-2014 03:27 AM.
Could have been false report by Avast but considering previous issues I think its useful to keep bringing things like this to attention. Also it does not seem an issue exclusive to Avast when mikemoate mentions: Quote:

In case it helps: I've started to get Avast alerts today (the HTML:Script-inf warning). I login and logout every day (up to and including yesterday it was fine). I use FF, NoScript (all VEF dependencies white-listed except google-analytics) and AdBlock Plus.
With Chrome (just Adblock Plus there) Avast won't even let me see the home page. Cheers. |

Block plug-ins, pop-ups and disable javascript. If at all possible don't run Java. If you inspect the index page source code, the offending site is shown there as described by the OP.

I've found Avast to be the best of the free anti-virus programs and I don't think you get any more by paying for overpriced AV software.
Today, my Avast picked up a warning when I opened VEF. I now begin to wonder if this might be connected to the very irritating Jasmin pop-ups? Has anyone on VEF ever actually clicked on to one of these? |

I use Avast & I've noticed that I only get alerts when I log in from the home page. I have a few threads bookmarked, so if I log in from those threads (instead of the home page), then I never get an alert from Avast. It's not a fix, but a possible band-aid.

Unlike in the original thread on this subject, we haven't had any responses from admins in this one - should we conclude from this that it isn't considered a serious problem?
