I actually like Jeb Bush -- his politics and intellect seem much closer to his admirable Dad than his lamentable brother-- but hereditary leadership bothers me. I'd much rather see Elizabeth Warren vs Ted Cruz, frankly. While I'd probably be happier with the policies of a President Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton, it seems to me part of the American idea that we can find lots of new talent. One disturbing thought is that I think Jeb Bush is probably the only Republican who could win the White House, and if we're going to have a Republican Congress, having a Democratic President is the only check on really crazy stuff. Additionally, it appears that the next Presidential term will see several Supreme Court vacancies; on past performance I'd rather not see them filled by the Republicans. |

deepsepia,
The problem with Jeb is I think he could have a real problem in the primaries. Don't think the Republicans have changed the clown car enough but I guess we'll see. All of their candidates have to move so far to the right which makes it difficult to get back to the center. |

If it helps in a very recent Washington Post poll among Republican Primary Voters, the results were amazing:
Mitt Romney 21% Jeb Bush 10% Rand Paul 9% Raul Ryan 8% Ben Carson 7% Ted Cruz 6% and then the numbers drift into the margin of error (aka statistical noise). I think the only person that the late night comedians would have more fun with than Ted Cruz or Rick (I'm smarter with glasses on) Perry... would be Mitt (not my real first name) Romney. Come on RNC nominate the personality less robot one more time! |

Very normal speech from Mittens, very stiff, very rigid, and never said anything.

Apparently Mr Romney has officially decided not to run in 2016. But perhaps he has a duty to run and protect America from this
Its a sampling of Mrs Palin's 24th January speech to the ultra conservative Iowa Freedom Summit. Apparently the autocue stopped working. It wasn't much of an advertisement for her presidential credentials. In 1904, in his first speech as an MP, Winston Churchill spoke for just under an hour without notes. Even his opponents were impressed by his detailed grasp of the subject being debated: it was the 1904 naval estimates, and Churchill was querying the government (his own side) on their decision to commission six new dreadnoughts and asking whether four might not be sufficient. He didn't need notes because he knew exactly what he was talking about.

Seems like in 2016 we are screwed either way by who each party is pushing, I know if the Republicans bush Jeb bush on to us I won't vote for him and Hillary is the obvious dem, aside from "creepy uncle joe" Biden unless he gets busted for trying to force kisses on underage senators daughters like they showed on cspan. Maybe not the typical candidate from the right and he probably won't have the rncs support but I really like ben carson.
