Was he putting on his pink chiffon dress and getting ready to go out on the town when you spoke to him? Seriously, you have to have balls the size of coconuts to impersonate the FBI. I get email all the time claiming to be from the Director of the FBI and the senders address is some bullshit address.

One thing, I don't believe the F.B.I. would send advance warning to any suspect. I've received phony Emails from idiots claiming to be the F.B.I. and claiming to have a warrant for me to be arrested if I didn't reply to their Email. I just laugh them off. They are fake.

If your picking up that type of alert from your anti-virus or security suite you seriously need to overhaul your browser security set-up
Using a browser that runs no script or ghostery very smart if your not running a complete security suite which comes with its own sandbox for your browser like avast. The ad-blocking tutorial isnt a bad place to start with this type of issue as theres a lot of info about no script & ghostery here http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t15...n-firefox.html Browsing inside a sandbox like sandboxie means you simply delete the sand box and the threat is gone...no lock up because the infection cant get through Another scam slightly off the radar but no less dangerous if your a bit gullible is when you receive a phone call from Microsoft saying your computer is infected, which it is - best answer - I dont have a computer - go and run malwarebytes , eset online scanner etc... The general thing with these types of infections is dont ever try to close windows or pop-ups with your mouse IF your security software doesnt stop them. If your quick enough - control/alt/delete/process/browser/end process will snuff it out as quickly as disconnecting. While I agree system restore can snuff out infections some are being written that actually go back and remain on your system. If you have to remove anything always do it in safe mode - PF8 - otherwise infections have a nasty habit of sticking around Last edited by buttsie; October 16th, 2012 at 07:13 PM.. One important thing I did not see here was that you should report the post to possibly save other members the grief of learning that their computer was vulnerable.

I have AVG 2012 on my computer. It snagged it and took it off the second it flashed on.

it's ransomware
it's a ransomware ( a type of malware) : most important thing disconnect your infected pc by internet for avoid downloading of other part of this ransomware that could crypt some your files. Fbi, Mpaa, Riaa, Polizia Postale, Siae and any others similar organitations that "block" the pc hide same virus Ransomware !
