Maybe I'm just too dumb to handle an (almost) infinite number of porn.
![]() So that's why I made thirty folders 01,02,03... and proceeded to drag all the good scenes into it, renamed them and with one shift-delete the rest was gone. Feels good as if a huge piece of garbage dropped, and the remaining 30 scenes really shine now. Before with 1000+ files the "average" quality was mediocre.. now the average quality is beyond extremely awesome! Last edited by boneym; 11-23-2011 at 06:24 PM.. |

You could have had them recycled anonymously: http://www.diskrecycling.co.uk/index.html I'm not a tree-hugger, but there's so much harmful stuff in CD/DVDs, the more that are kept away from landfill and the water table, the better IMHO. Not really for my sake, but my (and your) grandkids might benefit... |

I have a shy amount of about 6TB porn. Mostly movies. But it's not all about the porn per se. I have a hobby of encoding stuff as well and decided to share most of it with this forum of healthy individuals.

Do I have porn on my computer? Too much - it's damn difficult to throw anything overboard. I bought a disk copying gadget and it didn't work...naturally.
So I keep refining what I really want to keep, and every so often have a deletion party. Or wake. One thing I won't toss out is "Neon Nights" (1982?). I saw this in a theater when it came out, and the damn thing got under my skin. I used to study it to figure out what makes it so weirdly haunting... |

apart from the obvious basic system files, backgrounds, and programs like movie players and converters; all my pix and movies reside on a stand alone hard drive; that gets hidden away while im out, or taken with me if im staying anywhere with a computer for a few days.
You may be surprised to hear i only need the one 1TB drive for this, after over 15 years of collecting; but i often purge my files and delete stuff that's either duplicated, or just surplus or not as good as a similar file of the same image. I lost a lot of irreplaceable stuff to cheap floppy discs a few years back; including a novel i was drafting that had close to 750,000 words; and wish id invested (been able to afford what was then very expensive) in a stand alone drive back then instead. I also keep a 1TB back up hard drive that gets pulled out of its hiding place once a month to make sure i have a copy of all the good stuff that i cant replace for one reason or another. have lost far too much that was on either discs, floppy's, or internal hdd's over the years. anyone who hasn't invested in such a device or has no back up options.. do yourself a favour and get one..!!! |

i have a 500GB small USB external hard drive that i keep my porn files in. Inside it is mostly full scenes, and i have about 120GB left of free space but i think i can get it down a lot more when i get time to do a clean up.
Years ago i use to put everything on cd/dvd as backup. But i soon learnt that trying to stash 100+ disc around the house just felt a little too much. Then i started to stash my porn in external hard drives, but then i soon notice i was running out of space all the time. Now i delete a lot after i download because i know that i may not watch them again. I only save porn that i know i will defo watch over and over and for me to save them to my hard drive they have to be something special. Also i use to keep a lot of full porn movies on my hard drives, but then i decided to edit them and cut out my favorite scenes and bin the rest. So if i now download a full porn film now and it has say 5 scenes with differnt woman in it. i will now cut and save the only scenes i like from that film, and then bin the rest... However i only cut it with tools like Ultra Video Splitter so it still keeps the same original size frame rate and format. |

After years of watching porn and then delete it, now i collect porn scenes, (mostly scenes with better resolution than 480x360 and not wmv type vids).
I regret deleting some great scenes and now i cannot find them anymore. It's easy to store some porn to external discs and have your pc or laptop "clean", so everyone can see it (girlfriend, buddies). |

What else would I put on my hard drive? Programs? Utilities? Surely you jest.
Seriously, I have 2Tb+ worth of porn. But, my collection goes back to the 1990s

The art of secreting porn has certainly come a long way since the days of teenage angst, when one would hide magazines (which nowadays would probably be considered more tame than Radio Times) from your mothers insistent tidying. In those days I collected 'Marvel' comics and 'World of Wonder' magazines (perfectly sized for the job). I would carefully distribute the few top shelf magazines amongst the piles artfully hidden. It never worked, since my mother would have a putsch in the Spring and they would mysteriously disappear. When video appeared, I would dispose of the covers and use video labels (remember them?) with Open University titles (those programmes were guaranteed never to be watched by non-students). Nowadays I have two external Hard Drives. If I download, I use flash sticks (to avoid any nasty viruses) and have them swept by Norton before putting them on to the drives. It is a good system, but like many others from the early years of this century, I now have a lot of CDRs to dispose of!! All of the files on the Hard Drives have innocuous and 'bloky' titles, like Great Anglers followed by the initials of the relevant model. No problems so far and I have experienced two terminal crashes with no ill effects...
