Default Subtitles editing

Have some nice movies in a language that i don't understand but i've also the subtitles,
when i put them together in 1 folder, than my GOMplayer plays them together, but only 1 small problem, the subtitles are to big for the video.

Do you know a way to edit the size of the fonts so that i can enjoy these movies?

Did some search on the net and found several programs but i can't reduce the size of these subtitles with them.

Thanks

Don't use Gomplayer myself, but you could try this.

Tips & Advice

Press F7 to display the GOM Control Panel, and choose the Subtitle panel. Here you can specify some preferences.

If the Subtitles are not quite in sync with the on-screen dialogue, use the Back 0.5 seconds or Forward 0.5 seconds buttons to fine-tune the synchronisation. If there are multiple language subtitles present (usually only supported in the newer file formats such as .MKV) then click Next Language to cycle through them.

Use the Size slider to change the text size of the subtitles (the further left you drag, the smaller the text will be). The Y and X sliders are the on-screen coordinates of the subtitles, and can be used to modify their position (useful if the film has widescreen bars and you want to position the text so it is on a black background).

Thanks for your advice, works perfect.

Have another question about the same subject.

Is it possible to join 2 of these .srt files together?

Dl a film in 1 part, but the subtitles are from a 2 CD movie, so i have a .srt file for every
CD (part 1 and part 2)

Again many thanks

Again no experience, but you could try using this.

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Subtitle_Workshop

1) Open Subtitle Workshop.

2) Go to Tools --> Join Subtitles

3) When the new window opens click the ADD button to add your SRT files. Set the frames per second (FPS) of your M2V, AVI, etc.

4) Click JOIN, name your file, and click OK.

Default How to do subtitle

I have vintage mainstream horror movies in Spanish and English and I would like to put subtitles in French

How do we proceed? By your own experience, do you know an easy to use software or a most simple way to do it ?

Thanks

First get the vlc media player. (from videolan, this is freeware)
Go to a general subtitle website.
Download the subtitle of your choice. (.srt file)
Extract the subtitle in the same map as the movie.
Make sure the subtitle has the exact name as the movie.
For example: Rambo.avi and Rambo.srt

If you open the movie in VLC, the subtitle will automatically run with the movie.

If the subtitle doesn't run together with the movie, download an other version.

Hope this helps you out.

I suggest you to use AviRecomp.

The program is very simple and make all you need.

Even VLC is good, AviRecomp requires half time.

Thanks for your answers but the movies are old rare movies. Subtitles do not exist. I was thinking of doing them myself.

These programs do not allow me to do that.

How can I do it.

thanks

You are planning to make subtitles and than make some kind of .srt file for that movie with
your subtitles?

Why would you do that?
For fun or just the question, can i do it?

Hi, I would do it for fun, while watching a boring hockey game and see the Canadiens getting beaten over and over again.

There is a guy that has a fabulous site of old weirdo movies. This is legit. He puts only movies that are no more available anywhere. If one of them gets re-released he removes it.

He works the visual and makes them as good as possible. it is a French site and all movies must have French subtitles.

I have a few old weird ones and I want to do my part so I'd like to know how to do subtitles because these subtitles do not exist in .srt files.

So if anybody knows how to do that, please tell me.
