I've been listening to the band Death lately, which is a case of going in waves, I'd obsess for a band for a period of time and just move on to the next one. For Death, it's probably the 4th or 5th wave. Anyways, this was different because today, I was curious about how the leader of the band, Chuck Schuldiner, passed away. I remember it was brain cancer, but it was more specifically pneumonia after taking drugs to treat that cancer, which broke down his body as part of the side effects of the treatment, pneumonia basically being the last straw. There's a 17 second clip of his final interview, one that MTV apparently never aired, from January 2000, and it was sad to see. He mentioned about how being in a band doesn't mean he's rich, and I specifically read about how he and his family were in rough times financially during his final years.
It's weird to feel sad for someone that died well before I got into their stuff. When the stuff's amazing though, it does play into "What if" scenarios going on, and being sad from that, along with the fact that they were gone too early. Now I wonder what if he was still alive, he'd be in his early 50s, probably being lauded as the best guitar player in metal, ever. By the time he passed away, he was evolving as a musician, to the point where his last albums were filled with incredible guitar riffs and solos that ventured into progressive territory. In general, my interest in metal history has grown the last few days, I'd just like to read more. There's apparently a book about the history of Death Metal, and I'd like to get it. Also, just reading, RoboCop coming back, Neil Blomkamp slated to direct it. I would be excited but the man couldn't get his Alien reboot movie to be a reality, so, I'm skeptical of this even coming to life. I still have only seen Elysium in his filmography, which was pretty good in my opinion, but he's most known for District 9, which I still haven't seen. |

Yet not expend the effortless energy to click back a page and thank the original post itself. How queer Some might , declare

I can't believe Andy Serkis got away with playing an Ape , when there are plenty of actual Ape actors out there looking for work... Damn you Andy , ya`bloody animalist bastard !
Well what I done learned today is.
That the perfectly formed plus darn fine performer Scarlett Johansson has been forced to groveling apologize to the rabid bullying big mouthed transgendered community . After their vitriolic attacks on her. Had to apologise (To them ) along with leaving the film Rub and Tug. Where she was going to play , yep. A transgendered gangster Dante “Tex” Gill. An action that`ll cost goodness knows how many jobs. Because if the film does (Unlikely) go ahead. Without her the expected revenue , and thus budget will be dramatically rescaled down. Bah I think it`s absolutely disgusting. How dare an actor pretend to be something they`re not Still I`m sure Chastity Bono will do just as good a job as Scarlett would have Gawd , put myself off my own lunch searching through Chazza photos

Thursday, by the good graces of Youtube recommendations, I fell into a rabbit hole of "Fact or Fiction" videos from Loudwire. They talk to prominent figures in the metal world and give out statements from their Wikipedias, the band Wikipedias, and basically confirm or deny. This started when I watched a 1994 interview with Chuck Schuldiner, Andy LaRocque (King Diamond) and Scott Burns, and that led to Gene Hoglan videos. They were recording Individual Thought Patterns and Hoglan was the drummer for Death at that time. So through that, a Fact or Fiction with Hoglan.
I love the format and have already seen loads of videos. I didn't watch really anything else on Friday the 13th and so far on this Saturday. I will share one little fact I learned just now. From Mike Portnoy's Fact or Fiction (ex-Dream Theater), his dad was a radio DJ based in New York. He moved to Carmel, California and became the radio DJ for KRML station there after watching the Clint Eastwood movie Play Misty For Me. He saw Eastwood's character there being a cool radio DJ for KRML station, and he wanted that life. Being a huge Eastwood fan, that made me smile. That's really cool. Probably a well-known fact, Clint Eastwood was once the mayor for Carmel for one 2-year term (1986-88). |

So Bruce Willis had a Comedy Central roast last night and in it he stated that Die Hard is not a Christmas movie, it's a "Bruce Willis movie." A very senile old man, because not only is Die Hard a Christmas movie, but it's the best Christmas movie ever.
So that's his side, incidentally before finding this out, I read an article that listed highlights from an interview with co-writer of Die Hard, Jeb Stuart. He himself said it was a Christmas movie. Quote:

What Have You Learned Today ?
Norwich must have more law abiding citizens than I thought
This be the second week that BBQ has sat there. With wood aplenty. Tongs too. Yet nobody has thrown anything about , let alone stolen so much as a thumbnail of greasy ash. Then again who in their right mind would Hey I`m not saying it reeks to rusty pig arse heaven Since trusting you`re all taking that as a dry heaving given

Just found out that the Hitchhiker's theme music was an Eagles track - Journey of the Sorceror.
I always assumed it was from the BBC Radiophonics folk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJjd_sZcMYw This was the theme of the radio show, tv show had a soundalike version, prob cos of royalties. |
