I...along with my useless brothers (and don't get me started on my sister and sister's-in-law) would be be all out for 8 against the kids and grandkids declared at 31. Stupid backyard cricket!
After the barby we're playing backyard footy, where size and weight count for more than skill. |

As for a date, not sure, It should be Jan 1 when we became a nation on Jan 1, It should be changed as today's date does offend the Aborigines. If a date were ever seriously discussed, they should have a big say in it And, palo, since I gave ya honorary citizenship, Are you havin' a BBQ today

Just take a handful of mince, wrap it around half a handful of chopped onions, and grill it till the meat in the middle is almost starting to cook. Serve with grilled or raw tomatos, onions, super-hot mustard & booze If you're still hungry, do two or three more Our mince is different. We only get beef, pork, or beef & pork mix. There is no lamb, or if there is, I've never seen it. I take beef & pork - it just has to be fresh |

CARnival
There is a motor festival in Sydney every Jan 26, this year with new sponsors. The format was changed a little. I've posted pics of cars not previously included over the last two years in our "cars' thread, you can do a search using my member name for 2011 and 2012.
They were giving out flags, I quite like the one from the Imperial German Navy but they didn't seem to have it. This is a walk-through around Hyde Park and Macquarie St which is one of Sydney's prettiest. I have included some gracious colonial buildings. Achtung! Macquarie St near Hyde Park. Two Francis Greenway buildings either side, The Barracks and St James: Sydney Mint: Sydney Hospital: Parliament House: Mitchell Library: A fine line-up of Buicks: Intercontinental (Treasury Building): Edit~ I meant to add there is a Vauxhall towing a caravan in there, your worst nightmare. No sorry, your worst nightmare is getting stuck behind it in 1961. Last edited by Tmee2020; January 26th, 2013 at 12:42 PM.. Reason: Bloody Vauxhall |

My (sydneysider un-communist) brother says you're nuts if you buy an Australian-made car. He says no one buys them because everyone knows they're all sh*t. I'm not joking, he really said that
What do other Australians say? |
