VEF NHL Playoffs Hockey Pool Draft

Everybody Is Welcome To Participate

Rules

1. Meet on VEF Wednesday April 13th at 8pm North American Eastern time (I thought that was GMT -5, but the board says -4 ... no DST in England?)

2. Draft order to be determined by random lots. Draft order reverses in even numbered rounds. The number of rounds TBA, depending on how many people join up.

3. In draft order, one-by-one each participant selects a player. No player may be selected more than once. At some point in the draft each participant must select a team instead of a player. You can pick only one team in the draft, but you can do it in any round you want. As with players, no team may be selected more than once.

4. Scoring: All of your players get one point for every goal and every assist they earn throughout all four rounds of the playoffs. The team you choose receives one point for every game they win and 5 points for every shutout they post throughout all four rounds of the playoffs (a 0-0 regulation time score does not count as a shutout for the team that ultimately loses in OT). Also, you get one point for every goal or assist that team's goalies get.

5. In the unlikely event there is a tie in the final standings the first tie-breaker is most goals and the second is most points earned by the teams selected.

How many players will we draft?

Depends on how many people are in...

If we have 6-8 people we'll do 12 rounds
If we have 9-11 people we'll do 10 rounds
If we have 12+ people we'll do 8 rounds

You pick a team, not one goalie... one point for every game that team wins, five points for any shutouts that team gets plus one point for any goals or assists that team's goalies get. You must pick one team in the draft, but only one (the rest of your picks are players). You may pick your team in any round of the draft that you want.
