Have anyone here mess with a D550 (rackmounted D-50)? Does it have the same patch as the d-50??? Thinking about purchasing one soon.

Thumbs up avoid possible Roland memory scramble... ΕΥ∆□□□ﻷﻍﺍﳋ ۶ỒỒ‏Ỹжффф

One thing i might advise you watch out for with Roland Racks from this era (late 80's early 90s) is the fragility of the memory Re: the battery back-up.
I have a U220 & when i got it (secondhand a few years ago), I was advized to change the battery as it was already bordering on vintage , & I did so with the power turned off.
Big mistake

not only did all the user memory get erased but the range of some became so scrambled, it is now practically impossible to re-program.
e.g. transposition settings that should be between "24 to -24" ..were at 90 something and only way out of it seems to be to scroll + & - thru each parameter until it jumps back into range
....takes F*<kin' ages
It's possibly just a quirk of the U-220 ? but i would just like to make you aware that if you do change the back-up.. do it carefully while it is powered up

Think it would have the same patches as the D50, it takes the same memory cards by the looks of it too Mixed revues here...

Thanx!!!! I apreciate that!!! I love the sounds and was looking for a particular patch "Sweep Pad". But the synth as a whole is nice!!

BTW did you know they opened the RAH concert last year with four cellists playing some of Birth of liquid plejades?

By the way, Futuro, ever tried using Reaper ? .., it does step or real time, midi & audio recording/sequencing. You can choose which audio editor you want it to work with if you wish to take the sequence further, so you can integrate familiar software.
In fact it's a full DAW for free & it has its own dedicated forum & is a Free Download (in banner @ top)

Hmm, it sure does the job but what I have thought of is a stand alone hardware sequencer, I try to avoid all computer based stuff.
Maybe I have to tigthen my belt for this summer to get this:

Sounds quite interesting and not too expensive?

Finally got myself a Korg 01/w. I've found it by accident in a second-hand music shop for 250 Euros. I think it's a fair price for a workstation, even if it's 20 years old. The Korg 01/w is actually an updated version of the M1. I'm in love.
