I haven't plowed through all 49 pages of this thread yet, but has anyone mentioned Janine? Oy, how she gave me the ants in the pants back in the day.

It's been a real eye-opener. Makes me think how much our tastes are determined by our time, geography, etc. etc.

I must admit that either I'd never heard of most of these US horrors listed here (Sharon Mitchell, Belladonna) or had maybe seen them once or twice and thought no thanks (Nina Hartley), or rated them highly in mags but had never seen them in film (Christy Canyon or Raquel Darrian). Same applies to the same old limp-dick males (R.Jeremy, T.Byron, Randy whatsit).

I don't really know the UK ones either, but those named here make me wonder why the RSPCA has never been called.

Since Britain was so prudish when I was a nipper my first big exposure to HC was French mags and films (70s and 80s). Interestingly I haven't seen any of those actresses being slagged off here at all. My own theory is that that's a real "golden age". Beautiful girls who (pretended to) enjoy it, reasonable amount of oral-anal-DP but not 10 mins non-stop every time, and they didn't overstay their welcome in the business.

Janine's problem I think was one not uncommon in the porn industry, (for the most infamous example see Savannah.) She was beautiful, (putting it mildly,) but always had someone taking care of her which gave her and the world a false sense that she was in control.

What you've seen since the ink took over her body is Janine in denial. She started hooking up with bikers when rock stars used to fit the bill and her looks changed with her bad choices in men. Now she's thrown so much away and just can't seem to stop the cycle.
