The problem is wasting raw materials by producing useless commodities, because enterprises need each year to make money to pay their employees and shareholders.

If you spend a little bit time, you will learn that today, a lot of objects are thrown away even if they work perfectly well.
Tons of garbages are not recyclable.

What are doing our governments today? They send them in Africa or in China to bury them.
In Switzerland, they recently dug huge holes that are several times bigger than soccer stadiums, to burry non-recyclable materials.

We transfer our garbages to your nephews, nieces, their children.... to the next generations.

I don't need to defend Capitalism here as it isn't the thread topic But for the record and to answer your question ... No that's not the choice of children of 12 years old to work in a coltan mine.
It's because their fathers are dead and they have to support their younger sibblings.

So what would be wrong from Apple, Nokia, Microsoft, Blackberry or Samsung to pay correct infrastructures and good salaries.
It's because shareholders do want the maximum dividends and customers don't want to pay the correct price of an Iphone.
The correct price would be at least 5000$, not 600$.

I NEVER bought any smartphone, never.
I don't get any TV.
I bought my computer in 2012. When one of my colleagues spoke to me about the smartphone report in 2016, I had no idea that African minors worked in such miserable condition. This colleague, who is a father of three children and was a proud capitalist, was shocked to know that the technology he promotted was made on children exploitation. He told me: "How can we fight against this. There are children. But I need a smartphone for my job."
I answered: "It's only because customers do not pay the fair price."

Believe me, personnaly I'll never buy anymore a new computer.

Prices of commodities have to be fair, expensive.
Rich people don't have to be rich.
