As for this economic revenge of the "merchants", we are a nation of shopkeepers, just as much now as we were when Napoleon said it. The "merchants " in the form of George Soros won when John Major's administration pursued an economically illiterate macro-economic policy for interest and foreign exchange rates, but the markets are about money, not about ideology. As long as Jeremy Corbyn is not elected, Britain will remain a business-friendly environment, more so than the EU.

Please forgive me - but this is tosh. Venezuela has been mis-governed since they kicked out Simon Bolivar. Britain is not remotely alike to Venezuela.
