I used to be an atheist, until I found the one true god and embraced Pastafarianism. Luckily the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a forgiving god, and he allows beer and strippers.

I urge others to forsake these false gods and embrace the one true deity.

Ramen.

I don't believe in atheism because it gives false credence that there's another option.

It's not a matter of believing or not believing. What do you call someone who doesn't believe in leprechauns? See, it's simply not an option.

If I understood you correctly you've come to the same conclusion as Karl Marx. He wrote that the critique of religion was already over. It's about fighting the conditions that keep religious beliefs alive. People who live in poverty take comfort in the false promises of religion that there is a better and just world after death. Most western atheists, particularly those in the English-speaking world, keep recycling the same arguments that have already been expressed by atheists and skeptics since the Enlightenment. The only addition are the major scientific discoveries that kept happening after. But the scientific arguments are only enough to convince the financially well-secured members of the middle class in the West. The vast majority of those who live in terrible poverty in Africa, Southeast Asia and South America could care less about evolution and everything else in science that has destroyed religious fairy tales for good. Evolution doesn't give them hope for a better life. It's not a coincidence that the rise of the American Christian Right began in 1970s. This was the time of major job losses and the rise in social inequality. And this gap keeps getting bigger.

Edit: I forgot to add another thing which is more related to what you wrote, Sirch. Marx said that in a communist society there will be no more atheists because it won't be necessary to express disbelief in something that simply doesn't exist. It will be like with vampires, dragons or unicorns. We don't believe in them but we don't identify as avampirists, adragonists or aunicornists.

And that is your fundy atheist minute for today (I have seen a lot of fundy atheism on this thread).

Evolution and science have destroyed religious fairy tales? Good one. You're so funny I forgot to laugh. Sounds like scientism to me.

Lawrence Krauss beautifully stated that religious people are 99% non believers. Because they only believe in their one God, not the thousands of other Gods that existed in human history.

Errrr... so it's possible to fundamentally not believe claims about vampires? Nope! You either believe in them or you don't. Or dragons? Again it's either a belief or none. Or unicorns? Yet again it's something or nothing not 'fundamentally nothing'. W.T.F. is 'fundamentally nothing'?

A classic example of Dunning-Kruger syndrome. Thanks for such a beautiful example.

Yes perhaps it does sound like that to the likes of you -but then again if evolution sounds like mumbo-jumbo to you, ask yourself why has even the Pope eventually come round to accepting it's factual after decades of attempting to deny it? - He couldn't keep on denying it because it simply became too embarrassing to deny the mountains of verifiable evidence which continually mounted up year after year!

Well done. In the (paraphrased) words of the great George Carlin, "This world does not belong on the resume of a supreme being. This is more like what you would expect from an office temp with a bad attitude. In any decently run universe, he would have been thrown out on his all-powerful ass a long time ago!"
