I really don't want to get into a dispute with Trailmaster as I generally like what he has to say. But I have almost completely stopped eating meat for several reasons.

Firstly kosher and halal opened my eyes to animals being tortured to death for idiotic, backward reasons and I really don't like the way they are treated or how this meat gets into the general supply.

Second, I had to change my diet after being diagnosed with cancer in 2016. No, I'm okay at the moment and the Grim Reaper hasn't sent me the paperwork for that final trip up the chimney just yet. I do have something like chicken once a week and modest dairy products, but the switch to mostly plant based food seems to have been pretty good for my health and I was surprised by the initial weight loss.

No, I'm not trying to convert anyone to anything, but many people are wondering if they should carry on with meat, need it or really like it. It's not a huge deal to stop eating meat, but I'll admit that I still like the smell of bacon in the morning.

I no longer know anyone who smokes and I do think that meat eating will eventually go the same way, but that's just my opinion.

Whatever happened to people being responsible for their own actions

My country is at serious risk of being far too much of a Nanny State,
Today on the radio driving up the highway I was listening about alcohol and it's health pros and cons ...... well

now some are once again proposing a tax on alcohol to help those who have a health problem with it

Pretty much the same here in the good old US of A too. People are always looking to pass their ferk ups onto someone or something else.
Nowadays the popular excuse is a computer error or glitch. Excuse me, but who pushes the buttons and enters the data into the computer? Shit in equals shit out!

Sometimes one can push the buttons and enter the data correctly, and find that an applications programmer or a quality control analyst fell asleep at the wheel.

Lumping the NFL and NBA into one thread. I gave up the thread years ago as reading about the exploits of a player I did not know and then found out it was the wrong sport pissed me off.
