Filefactory has met neither criteria for quite some time now. Removals and additions to the preferred list are discussed among the section mods and we alone make the decision to add or remove from the list.

Filefactory would still be allowed in Classic Movies. Removal from the preferred list would only mean that other members can post mirrors to Filefactory links on preferred hosts.
Perhaps you misunderstood the word 'discussion'?

You can have a discussion and then some of those involved in said discussion take note of what has been discussed when they make their decision.

What is the minimum download speed, or is that a Mods only secret too?

As for ease of use, define that please.

It's very easy to download from FileFactory, especially if you use JDownloader or an equivalent download manager.

It's never been clear why Uploaded.net isn't a preferred host.

The download speed is 50KB/s (unregistered) 70KB/s (registered) officially but I can get up to 120KB/s depending on the time of day.

It's very stable, reliable, has lots of users so presumably is financially okay.

My only experience with Filejoker is small files 20 to 40MB and they worked okay.

With Share-Online I've downloaded Blurays split into 100s of parts using JDownloader2, sometimes a few parts were on 'servers not available for free downloads at this time' but they all came in eventually.

I find JDownloader can make an annoying (pop-ups) file host much more bearable.

Along with all of the other hosts we allow. It has been my experience that Filefactory can be just as bad as those other hosts for free users. We recently added uptobox to the preferred list. Free accounts have a 90 day file retention from last download and the free user download speed is anywhere between 800 to 900 KB/sec. I have never seen Filefactory match that speed even when it worked fairly well for me.

Everyone should keep in mind that the preferred host rule only applies to Classic Movies, it is not a rule that applies to the entire forum.

I'm struggling to think of ANY content linked to on VEF that isn't in violation of those T&Cs.

Fully clothed public domain or otherwise out of copyright images of celebrities is all I can come up with.

I think that's written solely for the benefit of FileFactory, all the stuff about terror images and hate crime legislation smacks of that.

By their own rules their not exactly running smoothly

Payment within 15 days of end of last month and their 3-6 months behind going by the running commentary on wjunction which says they started down this path around August 2016

Sounds like to much bandwidth is being used which would mean they have too many link dumpers using them or the size & volume of the files at the HQ end has caught them out.

When will hosts learn you do not pay cash rewards to the free users unless you have enough premium users to underpin the scheme

FF should know better given the 2012 debacle when the link dumpers descended on them by the millions (4 to 5mil from memory)

Other rewards hosts get it because you have to be pay to get a reward with them

They should either amend their rewards scheme so free users get free upgrades and no cash or make payments every 3-6 months - either way should see those spraying links around to anywhere they can find go elsewhere.

Having said that the real question

Who else is going to be any better for the preferred list?

From what i can see about more than a few hosts have plenty of scope in their TOS to remove content enmass or block users from accounts if they so choose

Depositfiles the most recent rewards host to add that type of 1,2,3, goodbye into their TOS

Definitely not smoothly in terms of affiliate payments but I don't see any offline servers or anything else affecting downloads.

I'm not sure allowing payments to free uploaders is the issue, it might just be that they have existed long enough for a large number of users to have slowly accumulated the minimum payout total of $100.

Uploaded.net do not pay nearly as much per download, so much so in fact that I've never accumulated their minimum payout of $50.

Have torrents ever been seriously considered by VEF, are they any more reliable than file hosts?

No. Too many people cannot do torrents due to ISP policies against them and it is too easy to track the downloader / seeder.

if you get the 'error-server load too high' message from file factory just try it again immediately. I've had it with nearly every file I've tried recently and they nearly all worked on an immediate second try so it's probably an attempt to get people to pay.

Itīs a wonder that filefactory so long exists. What pisses me off are these one single link movie uploads with filejoker. Is it because this max 5 links a day rule? Itīs a kind of provocation to buy premium. I think this rule is shot in the own knee. Maybe 5 Threads a day with max 10 links a file.
