Linda Darnell
Linda Darnell (October 16, 1923 – April 10, 1965) was an American film actress. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001105/ Born Monetta Eloyse Darnell in Dallas, Texas, and one of five children, to Calvin Darnell and Pearl Brown. Darnell was a model by the age of 11 and was acting in theater by the age of 13. She was chosen by a talent scout to go to Hollywood but was sent home to Dallas when the scout discovered she had lied about her age.

Some more Life photos...hopefully they are all different. Photos still don't seem to do her justice, you really have to see her in a film to grasp how beautiful she was.
According to imdb, she was the youngest leading lady ever! I saw her in a cute film, Day-Time Wife from 1939. She was born in Oct of 1923, which means she was....15 in that film!!!! Beyond crazy! Don't even recall if she and Tyrone Power kissed in the film. Imagine Miley Cyrus starring with Brad Pitt in a film 2 years ago when she was 15. very sad...from IMDB
Died in a fire of unknown source while visiting friends. While sleeping upstairs and awakened by smoke, she tried to exit through the downstairs door, but was trapped. Badly burned over 90% of her body she died the following day in the hospital. I saw a biography on her a few years back...she was making a comeback, and was in a western called Black Spurs(1965) she looked GREAT from the small clip the showed. Of course, she was still only 41.
