649. And ships in space always fly at each other 'face to face'. Why? There's no up or down in space. Why isn't one ever upside down relative to the other, or facing it at a weird angle?

649=If a nuclear holocaust does occur (especially in Australia) then modern society would deteriorate at a profoundly quick speed.
I'm saying this because of the Mad Max movies. I LOVE these films, but the only thing that gets me is the time scale of the nuclear fallout. The best emphasis for this is perhaps the third film, Thunderdome. In it Max discovers a group of children left behind alone after the airplane carrying them to safety crashes in the desert and the pilot disappears whilst going for help. The problem is, when you look at them the youngest ones are probably only 4 or 5 years old (and the older teenage ones are far too young to be their parents). To me that implies that, even if the youngest ones were just babies at the time of the war (and the plane crash), it would mean that it only occurred just about 4/5 years earlier. And I really don't believe that modern society would degenerate to that level of Medievalism in just a few years. Surely it would have taken a lot longer (maybe DECADES) to get to that stage? |

Interesting comment. In the nuclear holocaust TV movie "Threads" made for the BBC in the early 80s, they were suggesting (as I recall) that there would be a significant deterioration of values within half a generation or so. Normal language would start to go quickly amongst the young and the need to survive would be the only pressing requirement for everyone. I suppose it all depends on things like the severity of the war, climate change and what resources remain available. But most movies go for the bleakest aftermath possible. 650. If I ever saw a shark in real life, I would be surprised if it didn't have its own dramatic incidental music.

651. Pillow fights (usually in school dormitories) always end up with a pillow bursting and the room filling with feathers.
652. The background music (whether light hearted or sinister) tells us if the fight or sword fight etc is playful or serious/to the death. |

653. Men's hairstyles and length of hair will reflect the decade the film was made in rather than the decade it was set in.
(The film Memphis Belle is the only film I've seen where this isn't the case. Made in 1990 but set in the 1940s, the actors actually have realistic 1940s hairstyles.) |

654. Steering cars (mostly) in the past (filmed from the front, probably while the car is on a trailer or has studio back projection) will nearly always require the actor driving to continually move the steering wheel quite dramatically, even on a straight stretch of road.

655. This has possibly already been covered?
It is Movie Law that all desert scenes have a section where the last of the water bottle is drunk. It must then be held upside down or shaken to reinforce this fact and more often than not flung by the weary (now shirtless) actor into the distance yeah that'll be useful if should you find a liquid supply later in the journey. Empty water bottles Are heavier to carry. arguments always break-out about now if they are not solo 656. Bad news Via the phone: The room will be silent except for an occasional acknowledgement, "OK... Yes " sometimes a question will begin but gets reigned in, "But how di..." at the end of the call they thank whoever was passing on the sorry news Then comes the acting part the receiver is either held to the chest or stared at before being replaced.
