Your post reminded me of Predicate Calculus I did in my post-grad AI course; that was back in the early 90s.

Fred is a Masters student at Cardiff University.
All Masters students at Cardiff Uni eat fish.
Therefore, Fred eats fish.

Well, life & death - why are we here for in the planet and all that, is not about propositions & clauses we did in Math. As Mal said, we can't be sure untill we cross on the other side. If there's nothing, then we're back where we started - no clue whatsoever. If on the other hand there is an afterlife, then we need someone to come back and tell us more, right?

Quite a difficult question to answer

Because every individual case and experience is probably different even if the end result is exactly the same.

Take my granddad for instance he died in his bed struggling wildly and shouting accusations of betrayal

At least i think that`s what he was going on about , as to be fair i couldn`t hear him clearly due to the pillow over his face

A short story describing one of the outermost (less-severe) Circles of Hell described the fate of most of us posters in the afterlife.
It was written by the VERY naughty author Aishling Morgan and explained what happened to folks who w*nked to much in life and also over-indulged in the food department.
They ended up in "The Pit of Immoderate Masturbators" swimming in a pool of...
