Always intriguing to see the ToCo girls elsewhere. Doesn't seem to happen much with the Bearsden girls and only with some of KH's stable.

Crystal Farmer (real name?) appeared in only a couple of sets I seem to recall at the fag end of Spick and Span, when there was a lot of filler and repeats of earlier sets. I would suggest the pictures were submitted or bought in. I would not call her a Toco girl in the same breath as Nicky Taylor, Anne Scott and co, as Hydon's postings illustrate.

I have to agree with Tocofan about Crystal Farmer, but I suspect she wasn't unique in being, "bought in". In the final months of Toco, I think this would have been the main practice for keeping costs to a minimum. I wonder if Ken Howard missed Toco's business? He was certainly very busy during the 70s so probably not. Nick

This is Penny Lane - a very lovely lady. Something tells me that's a made-up 'stage name' but no matter. The main thing is that she is showing off her panties, stocking tops and suspenders up her dress.

And I love the picture. below, for the sheer number of clothes involved. Counting shoes and assuming brassieres, I total up the items to about 30. Such lovely legs all three girls have too.

And here is Marie Graham out in the countryside, showing off stocking tops and more. Ken H sure knew how to get great and sexy pictures! A 5-bar gate, a pretty girl, a Summer breeze, and a short dress. Wow, what a combination!

There was a singer around of the same name at about the time 'Penny's' pics were published. I often wondered if they were the same lady.

Here's another regrettably failed opportunity featuring Eve Eden under her original name of Rosa Domaille with contemporary glamour girl Rita Royce at Battersea Funfare for the October 1958 issue of the appropriately titled Funfare. The failure is perhaps a bit more understandable as this was obviously a very public shoot. Aim was most evidently of course to get some good "natural" shots up both lovely young ladies' skirts, which again didn't quite come off. A couple of the images are actually out of focus, which could suggest the haste in which the photographer was trying to take the surreptitious picture. The final shot shows Rosa and Rita, deliberately I would propose, being delightfully suggestive with a toffee apple. Back in '58, these would not be the type of picture a "naice girl" would pose for and the gentleman who took them would be nothing less than a "dirty old man".

I often wonder why the good chaps at Toco chose the names, Spick and Span? There seems no obvious connection to glamour photography whilst there is with the title, Beautiful Britons. Odd? Nick
