1. This dog fell into a well. He was rescued by a brave man and a group of concerned onlookers.

2. This puppy was lost 350 ft deep in a canyon. Luckily someone took him home and gave him the life he deserved.

I'm a cat man by trade, having had them for the majority of my 35 years, but now absent of them, I find myself sometimes contemplating a dog...

Here's my list:

1. Golden Retriever (which I think is what OP called a Labrador Retriever, not what Americans call Golden Retrievers, which are quite clearly red setters!

)

2. Pug

3. Alsatian (German Shepard) - as long-haired as possible

4. Boxer

5. Newfoundland

I would add that the first three are kind of a 3-way tie; I love Pugs because they're just hilarious, I love Golden Retrievers because of their nature and they look nice, and I love Alsatians because they're intelligent and, to my mind, the best-looking dog there is. Which I'd have if I was going to get one varies on a daily basis.
