Pixhost Trouble
Be careful of any posts using Pixhost as the host, as this crashed my Mac twice this morning - not an easy thing to do.
(The MILF thread in Modern Topics seems to be the most affected.) The first time, I was able to close the tab, but the second required a hard restart, causing me to lose whatever I was downloading at the time. I also notice the FF title bar turns a pale shade of blue when using this host; which can't be good. |

Just tested a few pics in the thread - no issues
I did come across this on mozilla searching Menu bar glowing blue - turning off the hardware acceleration helped https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/953569 If it was something more malicious in one pic via the 3rd party ads (malvertising) plugins or out of date software are the usual route that results in large spikes in the usage of memory or cpu which leads to crashing. Adobe flash became vulnerable again 11/7/2017 https://helpx.adobe.com/security/pro...apsb17-21.html I disable all of my plugins when I go looking at pics as you never know when those types of programs will become vulnerable and the gap between that and a patch gives the malicious a period of opportunity. Disable or remove Add-ons / Plugins How to disable plugins Support will end for all NPAPI plugins except for Flash in March 2017, when Firefox version 52 is released. See this compatibility document and this article for details. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...remove-add-ons Last edited by buttsie; July 22nd, 2017 at 10:15 PM.. Reason: adding |

Uploading to ImageBam is taking ages at the moment, or is it just me?
And even worse, while uploading (upload not finished yet) I got the message "Could not connect to database." When refreshing the page the upload was incomplete (I'm using Firefox 54.0.1 (64-Bit)). Update: It seems that this issue has been solved meanwhile (Update 1) ... temporarily only (Update 2).

I'm staying away from IB until they stabilise
The number of servers over the last week that have been showing either dead small thumbs or are seemingly slow loading / inaccessible says to me their under a lot of stress Imagebam are probably too busy just like imgbox Number 1 rule - when their starting to show signs of stress stop uploading or start using a different host be it image or file. Its not like theres a deadline we're all working to Last edited by buttsie; July 23rd, 2017 at 01:10 AM.. Reason: changing |

What with someimage closing down, and the near collapse of ImageBam & ImgBox I would stronly advise all members to user a variety of image hosts, just in case, I am varying between ImageBam, ImageVenue, ImgBox, PiXhost and Turbo Image, that way if one of them closes down I have only lost one fifth of my uploaded images.

Though Hotflick has become incompatible with Firefox (which is what I use) causing a "disappearing act" to the thumbs in all the posts I re-upped with Hotflick during the recent Iban/Ibox scare, what I find puzzling is that I am able to see/open all Hotflick hosted images posted on all other sites. The only place that I cannot see/open and have lost all my Hotflick thumbs is here at VEF.

The sit w I-bam where thumbs are there but click to that "loading" page [which is an inert dead end] is rather insidious, since no one aware of problem until you click. Previously it would happen w some in a set, suggesting that image was lost. Now see it more on entire sets. Means they lost the whole set? Or maybe not? Does presence of thumbs indicate anything?
--------------- PS 2nd thought, maybe buttsie #2377 covers it.
