Weed Control
I may well be a masochist, but I'm enjoying getting out in this Aussie spring weather and knocking the bejeezus out of the emerging weeds.
Sometimes I'll use a fern hook, or a slash hook, when the going gets a little heavier. Never use brushcutters or anything like that, as I enjoy the exercise. Last couple of days I've been using a backpack spray unit as things are getting a little out of hand, in the hard to reach places beside fences, etc. Next it'll be an ATV then finally a tractor for the larger patches, followed by the odd bonfire, perhaps. What will i do when my war on weed is over (for now)? Then i will set about annihilating alcohol. |

I log onto this site. It actually makes me feel normal. Often when I am able to get out of bed, that does it for me. Just think about all of the people that can't.

I suppose this is an obvious one. Listening to music. Even people in a coma have responded to their favourite music. So it must be good for us.

I've been depressed all my life, but I draw, paint, play guitar, and practice Tai Chi.

When I need to improve my self-esteem and mood, I usually follow a routine.
1 - Listen to music at high volume If it does not... 2 - I take a bike ride If it does not... 3 - I'm going to swat some golf balls If it does not... 4 - (The magic bullet, but is dangerous because is very VERY addictive) Nail some darts in my target After that I always feel better Salut !

Dont worry GreenSkull id never throw darts at the jokers face even if i was paid to
What cheers me up is going to the pub in the evening between seven and nine weekdays because i get to sup a few jars and wag my many chins with my friends. Badly flirt with the chubby barmaid and listen to Roy the landlord complain about the brewery prices and that his customers never appreciate how tough his job is. He must be the most miserable bloke for miles around but for some reason we all like him.Could be to do with the lock ins i think Also like to cram chocolate swiss roll down my throat Or make my own special recipe super fast chocolate mousse Which involves me putting four chocolate chip muffins in a bowl adding a pint of ice cold milk and mashing with a spoon Remember if you try that recipe yourself and find the desserts too runny add another couple of muffins Because i always do |

I used to go the the pub nightly and that would always let me blow off steam and feel better... 9 or 10 beers and good conversation always works. Now that I have a chronic illness and must take medications that cause seizures if mixed with alcohol, the only escape I have is weekend golf. It's relaxing (I walk), fun, and also a brain game. If the weather is lousy, I just sleep in or read.
Before the children came, we used to camp & climb every weekend...that was the most peaceful and exhilarating time of my life. |
