Lacey sees her mother's dead lover in the mirror and smashes it, the evil that was trapped in the mirror is now released.

The Meg (2018)

Not much to see here unless you really want to see what kind of crappy CGI a $130 million budget buys.

The only character in it that does anything is Jason Statham and the Asian lady - she is in it because this is another Hollywood Made In China movie.

The other characters are just there to fall in the water and swim in panic while The Meg is chasing them and maybe they will get to safety before they are eaten.

There are 2 other women characters in it: Jessica McNamee and Ruby Rose.

One plays Jason Statham's ex wife and the other is the designer of the underwater marina station and they both don't do much besides again, swim, swim, before The Meg eats them.

Watch (or rewatch) Jaws 1975 instead with NO CGI and a mechanical shark that was way ahead of its time.

Sam gets an early night whilst a party is going on in his French apartment he wakes up the next day to find the place is a mess and when he does eventually see other people he finds they are now zombies and he appears to be the only survivor. Trapped in his apartment he survives by breaking into adjoining flats to get extra food and as he has a top floor apartment he collects rainwater on the roof.
There is one brief bright spot but that is shattered before too long.

A group of randy pot-smoking beer-drinking teens are off camping in the pleasant enough sounding Rainbow Valley fall foul of a reincarnated Viking warrior a decent enough cast, Beth Toussaint's first film and a nice if dark nude scene thrown in for good measure.
A pretty mediocre film but Beth does stand out.

Captain America: Civil War. My good lady sat through it enthralled and I said to her afterwards, 'I thought you didn't like superhero films.'
'No', says she. 'I just don't like those other stupid superhero films ( she meant DC) you drag me to see. These ones are actually intelligent and have some depth.'
It was galling to admit she is right.
And although his appearance is all too brief, Tom Holland as the dorky but plucky Spiderboy...err man almost steals the movie.
Anyhoo, tonight's the big one.

He consults with Judge Irene Menéndez Hastings (Soledad Villamil) who was his department chief and crush back when he worked on the case. In 1974, a young teacher, Liliana Coloto, was raped and murdered. Her widower, Ricardo Morales (Pablo Rago), is hell-bent on catching the killer himself but Espósito promises him that he'll find the killer and lock him up for life. Espósito and his partner Pablo Sandoval (Guillermo Francella) find and arrest the killer, Isidoro Gómez (Javier Godino), but he's released soon and pursuing the case any further becomes dangerous as it turns out that Gómez works for a secret intelligence unit, set up by the state to persecute leftist activists.

A skillfully told, gripping plot in the tradition of the finest political thrillers. Ricardo Darín is great as a man haunted by old regrets and missed opportunities. Soledad Villamil, who plays his unfulfilled love interest, is equally wonderful in her complex role. Recommended!
