Forgot about this thread. Was going to post about one individual but I don't think he was really "loony". He was a Viet Nam vet.
Back in the late 60's and/or early 70's there was this guy that we always used to see walking all over the town where we used to live. He was fairly tall and gaunt. Always wore a military jacket, green military pants and a heavy stocking cap. He'd be wearing the same thing summer or winter. That heavy stocking cap on even during a 90 degree F day. Rarely said anything to anyone. I think I only talked to him once or twice when he'd come up to a group of us and ask for a cigarette. He wouldn't hang around. Just get his smoke and move on. Somebody said he was a Viet Nam vet who'd had a tough time. I do remember that there was something unusual about his eyes, his stare. Just very different. I forget what they call it. Moved away from there years ago and don't know what happened to him. Hopefully he's in a better place. |

Mal Hombre,
Yeah, I think that was one of the things it was called. Also, maybe something about "dead". I don't know, it was a long time ago and hadn't thought about that guy in a long time (probably when this thread was started). As I remember the guys eyes were just dead. Somehow, you just knew this guy had seen something he shouldn't have. Don't know how else to explain it. I do also know he wasn't the only one to experience this. I guess its not all that uncommon in the military. |

These two loonies regularly stomp around the area.
First time I`d ever seen them together , so had to take a snap. Never spoken to the chap on the right before (Heard him checking the bins on the street plenty of times though) . Have sorta been waylaid by the foul mouth twonk on the left. He likes to walk around swearing. As in shouting to nobody in particular "Fcuk you , fcuk off , yeah fcuking ignore me then cnut " etc etc . Originally I figured he had turrets crossed with cretinism Did know he was a drug addict as was at the pharmacy once when he burst in holding a guitar (Uh huh) , thin lips blurting out that he wanted his f`ing methadone. Yet a couple months ago when he stood behind me at the zebra crossing and let rip ,I turned round and gave him twice as much back. To which he became all hands up apologetic and blamed his behaviour on finding his GF had cheated on him.. Yeah right That said once he stopped swearing he didn't seem too bad a guy. Yet the fact he could stop swearing and converse semi reasonably sort of showed what a faker he was. Almost advised him to turn down the random aggression since one day it`d bound to lead to somebody kicking his hollow head in. Then realised , I couldn't be bloody arsed
