Yes, I've made a bit of a career out of it over the last ten years or so, although I too started off just taking pictures of Mrs Bevpic. I've posted quite a few examples (of her & many others) on VEF & have a couple of websites. Most of the work I do now is boudoir shoots for private individuals, ladies or couples. It's a hard life........

Yes, I am a professional photographer, and as part of my business I am commissioned to produce portfolios for escorts (the working girls, not the magazine).
I have just joined, and my fiancée Linda will be following soon, as we both have a passion for vintage glamour. It is Linda's bottom I am holding in my profile picture.
Working with escorts is fun from a professional point of view because they prefer non-nude or semi-nude to out and out porn.
As a bit of fun for ourselves, Linda and I like to do our own vintage style photos and videos, which we'd be quite happy to post, but as they have never been in a magazine, etc, would that be appropriate for here? and if so, where would be the best section to post them?
This is a fabulous site, and it is great to meet the famous Hattertim (virtually) in person. I have seen your name crop up a lot all over the net.
Looking forwards to getting to know you all better in time.

During the early 90'S I close friends with a Filippino girl who was quite hard times, in the middle of divorce. She wanted some photgraphs for contact magazines and, "escort work". We had no secrets from each other, she had worked out I was transgendered and always felt relaxed with me. Anyway we produced some great pics of her dressed in one set in black lingerie stockings etc, and one in white stockings. The white set against her brown body and long black hair were realy quite good with what we had camera wise. We went on to do more explicit pictures, of her held open and insertions. Certainly on the basis of the pics we took made her a very popular girl with her clients. We are still friends, she is out of escort work now and doing well!

I met and photographed Sue Simmonds and other page 3 girls also, mainly in the midlands in the 80's and 90's. I still have all the old camera equipment (still use it) as well as two digital cameras and other gear. I sold my studio lights and accessories later. Worst mistake I made, I didn't use them for years, so they were just stuck in a room doing nothing. I eventually sold them but I know now I should have kept all the gear.

I started doing general stuff, and learnt the ropes back then. It was always my ambition to move into glamour, and I got the chance to work in a local studio (demolished in the last year or so) and was taught lighting and so forth by a professional. I eventually would start to photograph local girls, and as I became better at it, I raised my sights and moved onto using more professional models, culminating in my travels to other studios and photographing some top girls. You might still find the photos of Sue in her thread. I posted them as 'My own'. But their are loads more I have. I have resisted the temptation to put more of my own work up, as we now have bots/stealers & copiers to contend with and I wouldn't like my photos appearing elsewhere and obviously someone else taking credit and without my permission.

Photography is a hobby, although my interest is mainly motorsport and landscapes. However I did once try nudes. Booked the studio and the model through them as well. Arrived, model was ill, they had arranged another. While the original had appeared in Fiesta, Ravers etc, lets say that the replacement was comfortable working at much more explcit levels than the one I booked. She could, she informed me, hide a coca-cola can about her person while naked - those weren't her exact words - and was happy to be photographed doing so.

Had to borrow a camera from the studio as mine wouldn't fire the studio lights (sodding Minolta 7000i, lovely camera but the sync port simply didn't. Yes, this was back in the days of film). Fortunately they had a different Minolta so at least I could use the lenses and the controls were basically the same.

Anyway, I spent a few hours trying different things. The model was very helpful but a bit too keen to show everything she had for my taste and being inexperienced with directing a subject I didn't feel comfortable telling her to close her legs. Once the film was developed, after a warning to the person in Jacobs that they contained nudes, the final results were not what I was trying to achieve (I did a pretty poor job with the lighting as well, which didn't help) and indeed it was almost a decade before I tried any more portraiture - this time of a fully clothed model.

And maybe I was doing something wrong, but despite being in a studio with a beautiful naked woman it I didn't find the experience the least arousing. Was concentrating on lighting, positioning etc and she was in that context simply an object I was trying to photograph. Was able to appreciate her more when she had her clothes on while we were chatting over a cuppa during her cig break.

I'll stick to the day job I think, no career for me in the adult industry (and while the copyright is mine, I have no model release, so no pictures will appear here)

Gf and her sister both work as professional dominatrix', so we regularly do photoshoots for both of their websites, more often we do video as well for pay clips...

No, you were doing nothing wrong.
If you have seen my post on this thread you will have read that in my professional capacity I have done a lot of semi-nude shoots. I have also done a lot of work for a site called (I think) Big Bouncing Boobies, where the shoots were often hardcore lesbian sets, sometimes with as many as four models at once, and even some hardcore with male and female models; but not once did I get turned on. And it is exactly as you say, concentrating on lighting, poses, angles, etc, and added to it the simple fact that the models are doing a job and are not there for the sexual jollies, make it a very non-sexual situation... Whatever the photos might suggest. Also a professional, non-letching attitude from the photographer is always appreciated by the models, so that helped my mind stay on the technical aspects of the job.
Saying that, if I do some naughty photos with my wife I get incredibly turned on, but that's simply because I know that my wife wants that, and there would be no over-stepping of boundaries... If that makes sense.

Back in the early 90s, in London, the ads paper of choice was "London Weekly Advertiser" which had a good "contacts" section.

Saw an advert in there for a studio in south London ?Mitcham? which had models available. So I phoned up, packed up my Pentax ME Super, and headed on down. Guy who ran it was ex army ... I had to wait a few mins while the previous session finished.

Girl was pretty. Slim build, shorter dark tight curly hair - had only just started modelling, and her b/f didn't know. She was trimmed, and very quickly just started off, while I snapped away. After a few minutes I gained confidence, and she tried a few different outfits on, but in the end, it was just her, naked, and thoroughly enjoying herself.

Prints came out very well - the lighting was good. Unfortunately they had to go a few years back.

One thing that I found quite a turn on was the fact that she was bi-curious, and had arranged a g/g shoot to satisfy her curiosity. Which means some lucky photographer caught her losing her bi cherry ....
