Speaking of The Muppet Show it was made in England because the American networks thought people would confuse it with Sesame Street which also used muppet-type characters and I think there was also some kind of dispute going on and strikes within the industry so they moved to England and brought to British television by ITV supremo Lou Grade- the rest is history. Soon after that the puppets appeared in the first Star Wars film with Frank Oz voicing the lovable Yoda(which sounded like a slowed down version of Fozzie Bear) which became an instant hit.
