Those people demonstrate their own character and reveal much more about themselves and it's creepy. Where is the joke in being robbed? What entitles a person to make obscene comments about another just because she was the victim of a crime?

It's one thing to celebrate the talents of models and actors at the top of their game which is what this entire forum is about; it's quiet another to gloat over the victims of a crime.
Now this is the definition of a white knight...

Mr. Holmes said "Now this is the definition of a white knight..." I thank him for his polite response. And I want to add a few more things: there is a world of difference between piracy and theft. Even if one were to conclude that it would be stupid to put material in the cloud that would not negate the fact that these women were robbed and their privacy violated. There is also a vast difference between being calculating titillating, and let's face it, Mr. Holmes is correct: Ms Upton in a calculating way uses the suggestiveness of her body to make a profit, there is a difference between being titillating for profit and being explicit for profit. Models who choose to pose for Playboy, actresses who choose to be nude in films, hopefully have made an informed choice. The piracy of their work is a whole other kettle of fish; if one cannot understand the difference between piracy and theft that's a topic for a whole other thread. But nobody should have trouble understanding the theft of private and personal property. And no victim of a crime should be ridiculed just because they may have had a human failing and trusted the security in their cloud storage. These women have been personally attacked, not only in the theft, but in the aftermath of their efforts to defend themselves. It doesn't take a white knight to know that those attackers are the sort of sleaze who would never dare say in public what they say in the shadow of their anonymous and semi-anonymous attacks.

Which brings us back to comments made that the women don't see. Most of us are savy enough around women and smart enough to know that the guy at the party drooling into his shoe and mumbling "show us your tits" is very unlikely to be going home with the classy beautiful girl at the end of the night. On what planet is it acceptable to ridicule women (or men) and to make lewd comments about them simply because they were robbed?

Somebody else in this thread said he was surprised by the nasty insults and creepy comments here. I agree. As I said before there is a world of difference between celebrating the beauty, sensuality, even raw sexuality, of the models and actresses who have elected to share this wonderful aspect of humanity with us; mocking the victims of crimes and objectifying them merely because they were the victims of crimes is, as somebody else said, creepy. The gloating "show us the tits" kind of responses will only come from people who have other issues when it comes to understanding human beings. No person, man or woman, deserves the treatment these women have received. Yes, some of these women may be hypocrites but they are still human beings who are now the victims of a crime. None of us can understand the pain and trauma some of them may be feeling.

On a side note I have even less sympathy for Lawrence after she did the Jersey Shore dance and laughed hard at the girls in the "we saw your boobs" song at the Oscars. Not exactly someone who should be bitching about it when the shoe is on the other foot.

Mr. Holmes,
Ms. Lawrence may be a hypocrite but that does not make her eligible for theft and victimization. If she laughed at the song at the Academy Awards she was laughing at images of people who agreed to have those images displayed in public. Perhaps she is hypocritical enough to laugh at somebody who was victimized and exploited (I don't know and I doubt you know either) that still does not make her eligible for theft and victimization. You may have a strong dislike for her as a personality, as an actress, as a ubiquitous celebrity, and it is reasonable to ridicule her status as a ubiquitous celebrity since she cultivates it for profit, but why should creepy people ridicule her, victimize her, objectify her merely because she was a victim of a crime?

There's really not much else to say is there? The people who will gloat and ridicule will do so and it illustrates their character. As for hypocrisy, think about what would happen if some of the gloaters discovered what they considered to be their private property to be hacked. We actually have some evidence of that.

I'm not going to back in this thread anytime soon so I'll leave it for the creepfest which is already in progress and about to get worse. Mr. Holmes, I do not consider you to be one of those making creepy remarks; I just disagree with you if your opinion is that these women deserve the mockery and crudity they have been enduring. If you think the words "people should not have their privacy violated and they should not be mocked for it" doesn't mean anything than what else is there to say?

Though the furore seems to have subsided for a while, I'm still waiting to see what might come from one of these accounts named in the various lists; the name of 'Cara Delvingne'; not for pics of her, but perhaps mixed in some of the hot women she's spent intimate time with of late.....?? (Michelle Rodriguez to name just one??!!)

Apologies if this isn't quite the right thread for such a comment, but I wasn't going to start a new one for this one comment)

Server sites hosting the pics are already removing them, even thought they are public domain now. Personally I feel it's messed up that Apple iCloud was hacked, but if you take nude selfies with your phone you gotta know that's risky in it's self. so It's hard for me feel too bad. That and the fact I did enjoy seeing alotta the pics, cause I'm a guy & I like seeing nude women.

Has anyone seen this narrative online that this leak didn't occur because a bunch of celebrity women carelessly put their nude pics on i-cloud and some valiant hacker found them with very little fuss and then shared them out of the goodness of his heart but that for many years a select nude celeb pic trading ring has been operating, the value of individual pics increased by the scarcity. The object is not to have these images widely available but strictly exclusive. Recently a new member referred to as 'the rich guy' bought his way into group buying up a selection of images which he then released as 'the fappening', these images are all that are available, the list that's been doing the rounds includes images only available in the group that will almost certainly not go public anytime soon (if presumably they ever would have). Knowing that their cover may be blown some members of the trading group offered up images for donations but as the authorities began to crack down these are unlikely to appear.

The mainstream media story is all about i-cloud, presents the story as careless silly attention-seeking women making fools of themselves by daring to take nude photos of themselves and rightfully getting their comeuppance and generally sends out a warning that young women should avoid doing this sort of thing (boo!).

But the truth of the matter may be less cut and dried, less black and white.

I've seen the narrative presented above in various places and 'a friend' told me something similar, that there are lots of images out there but they are in the hands of people who aren't interested in sharing with you and that this leak rather than opening the floodgates is more likely to shut them down completely.

Time will tell, I guess.

Too much thought and why would someone hoard nude pics? Seriously? My first "fall back" if I wanna see a nude woman is my wife. Looking at nudes is just a side hobby for me. Beside people have been making off nudity and sex forever so nothing new there as well.

For people questioning the morality of all this, how about the phototogs who stalk celebs at the beach in hopes of catching them leaving the water & catching a see through moment or camel toe? or a celeb sunbathing? Personaly I find Celeb fakes creepy just because someone sent time creating an image that's not real, But weres the line? we all image what a women we haven't in nude looks like nude. Sorry for rammbling like an idiot. But in the end were all naked under our clothes. Hahaha!
