That doesn't make one iota of sense. If you're downloading a
file, the type of IP (dynamic or static) isn't going to somehow change
the file into something else. A file downloaded by one person, will
be the same as a file downloaded by another. It might change the name
of each rar somehow, but not the file itself. Make sure all your files are
named the same, other than the part numbers.

Just been wrestling with a couple of downloads from Filesmonster and thought I'd share my experiences. I downloaded two wmvs, one in four parts and one in two parts (the links are not from VEF) and both had the same problem: both the inbuilt Windows Zip wizard and 7-Zip wouldn't open the first file of each, saying the archive was corrupt. This has to be a problem with the zip file itself, as I get the same error message whether the other parts are present or not. On the downloads page the files were listed as having a size of 0 bytes, even though that clearly isn't true, which suggests that the problem isn't a random one.

I managed to fix this problem by downloading an evaluation copy of WinRAR, as that program was recommended on the Filesmonster site - the archive successfully extracted, even though I still got the same error message. This was without changing any WinRAR settings.

Filesmonster makes a free user wait 45 minutes between downloads. With other sites that impose that kind of restriction, you can reboot your router to get a different IP address, but here the requirement to download all files from the same one enforces the wait. The files are downloaded with the same names every time, so they must be altered internally when delivered to different addresses. I suspect that what happened to Dottie Bittle is that the instructions in the YouTube video got round the first problem, but ended up sticking incompatible files together, so that the movie became unplayable when it reached the end of the first segment.

So in summary, you need both software able to extract from the zip file though it's 'corrupted', and to have downloaded all parts using the same IP address.

Can I suggest that a better name for this thread would be 'Problems with Filesmonster'? It's the real culprit, rather than the particular site the links were obtained from.

I'm massively into HB video, especially the older titles because that's when you got the hottest wome who go further than you think they would.

I have a collection of Sneaky Preview titles 14, 30, 49 & 57-75 + Sneaky Special - Wild Women 4, Black Beauties 2, Summer Leigh - Hall of Fame, Blondes Tease, Brunettes Please, Naked Lingerie Dream Models, Malibu Bikini Finals, Kinky Kitty Contest, Fetish Fever & Extra Sexy.

If anyone wants any of these I'll happily pass them on if you can tell me how.

What I really want is any older Sneaky Previews or Sneaky Specials that are only available on VHS and showing out of stock on the HB website.

I've approached HB and they will convert older titles to AVI format for $90 in NTSC format or $120 for PAL format but obviously that's quite pricey!!!

I'm from the UK but format doesn't matter so if I did do that I'd go with NTSC and pay the $90.

There are a couple of threads here and here that deal with transferring video to a digital file. Personally, I use a dual DVD/VHS recorder to back-up my old tapes and then encode the DVD to an avi.

There are also friendly folk around the forum who might offer to do it for you...

BTW, there's really no such thing as a PAL or NTSC AVI, they'll just be different resolutions, with the PAL version slightly better (providing they are actually encoding a PAL tape, if they're encoding an NTSC tape to a PAL resolution and charging you extra, that's a scam).

$90 for a file is very steep, I'd look around the net to see if you can buy them from other distributors. Amazon sometimes has old HB tapes for sale.
